I have thought about death countless times. First, it was when my siblings died, and I thought about what it would be like to join them. I had also thought about dying every night when I went vampire hunting, that maybe one night I might not return home. Hell, even recently, when hunting Dageian's minions, the thought of ending up dead occurred to me once or twice. But this? Tricked by a conniving witch—I would've never imagined. Throwing this piece of glass in the fire might or might not kill me, and for the first time in my life, I was entirely torn between chance or death. I didn't have that much choice either way. If I didn't do it, my mate would die. If I do it and it kills me, he will still die. So the most logical action is to do it, and maybe, just maybe, I can save him.
