Chapter Twelve
“So how did it go?”
Erin was sitting beneath a fragrant fruit tree in her uncle’s orchard, her phone to her ear. A glimpse at the time before she answered told her that her brother was up bright and early this morning to check in with her before he went to work, which she thought was sweet of him. She could’ve called him the night before when she’d returned from her date with Luke, but both of her grandparents had stayed up waiting for her return, and by the time she’d finished answering their questions, she was ready to go to bed.
