Chapter Seventeen
Luke was very upbeat the entire drive to Charles Town, commenting on how beautiful everything was compared to Baltimore, and how he wished he would’ve come for a drive this direction much sooner. Erin enjoyed his company and carried on a normal conversation, but in the back of her mind, she was still pondering exactly how this could’ve happened. How had her family abandoned her on her birthday?
Once they reached the city limits of Charles Town, Erin realized that she would not only have to soon face her family—assuming they were home by now—she’d also have to say goodbye to Luke.
