Chapter 2: The Accident

Friday ended in a flash and I quickly ran to our club,I am 15 minutes late because it's my class duties today.

This sucks.

I catch my breath as I arrived at the front door.

"Huh huh huh huh."

I hear deep loud sighs.

I turn around.

"Dean?"

"Nic?"

Why is he late?

He is not always late.

I mean,sometimes.

"I ran away from the dirtiest girl I met.She is a complete dirt." He looks back and stretch before tapping my back and...

"Lets go inside,we are f*cking late."

Oh s**t.

I knocked first before opening the door and saw..

Sleeping people in the ground.

And I remembered that today was a drill of earthquake and fire and tsunami.

It's a tiring day.

Guess we're gonna shop tomorrow.

I got Dean grab for errands.

I'm gonna cook for this club.

Dean arrived about 25 minutes later while I was making our camp plan.

I cooked the club's favorite food,Hamburger and fries.

Dean eats it even though he's a germaphobic guy cuz he knows I always cook clean.

As I finished cooking,Dean woke the others.

Levy is the cutest member but I personally think she's the matured one,in secret of course.

She woke up late,as always,and guess who always wake her.

Kris Wulkstine.The man who never gets tired of her.

I hope she sees the feelings.

Unlike Lucy.She never saw it.

I understand we are still young at the time but I am ten by the time I realised it.

I smirk thinking about the painful truth.

"Why are you smirking,mister president?" Loke jokes around.

The other giggles.

"People doesn't realise how lucky they are."

I said and goes to the bathroom.

This is shit.Bullshit. I smoke at the comfort room and take my time.

Loke POV

He always remember her everywhere and everything that reminds him of her.

It's painful to see our president and everybody's bestfriend to be hurt by someone who lives in his past.

He couldn't get over it and blames himself for the accident happened 12 years ago.

That was unexpected for us since the whole group joined it except for Levy who joined us two years ago.

Funny as it is,but the youngest of us is Mika Culty,my girlfriend with the age of 18.She is with us in the accident with the age of 6,yes, she is with us along with her parents permission.

Some think Levy is the youngest but we just keep it a secret that Levy is already 20.

Funny,right.

I fixed Mika's hair,like I always do.

I study all hairstyles with my extra time so I can tie Mika's hair different everyday.

Today,I tied it in a messy bun with the hang-around-your-ears curly strands on them.

Back to the accident.

It was the worse thing we never imagined.

October 04,2013

It was the last day of our camping,but our radio didn't work since we brought the wrong one.

We were on our way to get to the mountain foot.Our camp was placed 300 feet before reaching the peak of Mt.Havaleine.

It was winter season and Mt.Havaleine is popular for its snowy but blizzard-less mountain.

And it's safe for tourist and children above 4 years old.

As we hiked down the mountain,it was a strong blizzard that greet us and it was shocking for us and to the town after the accident.

We rested at a cave 52 feet below our campsite.We tied our waist with two thick ropes for our safety.

Our adviser at that time is Mr.Alivine, who guide us at the front as we walk in the blizzard. At the middle is our local tourist guide and at the back of all of us is our driver.

Lucy was at the driver's front.

Niccolo is placed after Mr.Alivine.At that time,Niccolo was the one who slightly cares for Lucy.

As I walked after him,I noticed his treble but I never think about it a lot.I just think about it that Nic is a d**k.

We all reached the foot but Niccolo something is wrong.

Our driver and Lucy was not there.

We waited for minutes thinking they might just be late because their rope was broken and just followed our tracks,but Jean let us remembered that the blizzard is to strong to handle and the tracks could have been erased because of the enormous snow.

Niccolo panicked that he almost ran to the mountain again but Dean stopped him.He resisted so our tourist guide calmed him down as Mr.Alivine call the police,ambulance/medic,firefighters and some other emergency agencies in town.He also called Lucy's parents and the driver's wife because he suspected they might have been lost or worse,covered or buried by snow.

In just a nick of time,all the things he called arrived.

But the responders said it is too dangerous to go on a blizzard,it might kill someone.

Because of the statement,Niccolo turned pale and collapse.

Later,he said that because of the statement something happened and it was jinx.

An hour passed,the blizzard ended and search is started.

Jean was right,the blizzard erased our track.

And it was harder to find them.

An hour has passed,not even a single shadow can be seen aside from us.Niccolo just woke up and run towards the edge and shouted "Lucy" a couple of times.

It was nothing.

2 hours have wasted and not even a hair can be seen when suddenly we hear whistles at edge.

At the edge was...the driver.

He is holding on some rope that was stuck at a large rock.

The firefighters held him up that took 15 minutes.

"We're wasting time.Firefighters can handle him.Let's look for Lucy." Niccolo said with worry and anger in his voice.

His eyes was filled with sadness,anger and some emotions that I can't describe.

The driver was treated while the police and the firefighters searched for Lucy.

It's been 6 hours and there is no trace of her.

"I-i-i-im sor-r-ry.I failed to-to to to save her." The driver said suddenly.

Niccolo heard it and holds the driver's collar.

"Where is she?Tell me where is she?"

And the place suddenly heated up.

Mr.Nick,Niccolo's father calmed him down and the driver just cried his heart out.

Lucy's parent understands the situation and Mrs.Tonette just collapsed.She was brought to the ambulance and Niccolo who just understand,runs away to the forest.I tried to follow him but Mr.Alivine stopped me from my tracks.

It can not be seen by his face,but I'm sure Mr.Alivine is sad.

He will blame himself for this which did not happened since Mr. and Mrs.Mellow didn't blame him nor the others.

The driver told this to the police.

"As we are walking in the blizzard,Lucy suddenly stop at her tracks. I looked at her and she stares back at me and said "the rope broke as I tried to grab Kris's shirt.' And a sudden mini avalanche pushes her to the edge and I grabbed her.The main avalanche follows and it was stronger than the first one that even I couldn't handle the impact.

I was thrown into the branch while I was holding Lucy's hand.

I held her until my hands started to numb when she started to cry and said

" please tell my parents that I love them,Mr.Driver. Tell them that I love them very much. Also please tell Nic I love him mor than a brother and I apologised for not fulfilling my role as his sister,bestfriend and his lover. Tell my friends I bid goodbye with a sweet smile on my face." I answered that she don't have to talk like that because we are gonna be saved.She cried out for a long time and said "I am an only child,I can be replaced by a child.You are a father and no one can replaced you.Tell them I love them." She bit my hands and I didn't let her go even I know my hands are bleeding.

The driver's right hand was full of bite marks and bruises and blood when we found him.

" She then grab her pen and stabbed my hands are bleeding but I still hold her even if my system is numb.She then grabbed a falling rock just below her face and throw it to my head and I slowly lost my conscious and I just let her go because my entire system was not working.I just heard Lucy's name and I woke up realising I just drop her."

We found her body 2 months after the accident and it was just a skinny body showing it is slowly decaying.It was cold so the body decayed slowly.

When we found her, Lucy's mother collapsed and Niccolo....he hugged her like there is no life to live anymore.Me and the others cried until we fell asleep.

I woke up at the wake nine hours after founding her body.

Because of her good attitude and her sacrifice,the townspeople all agreed to give her the town square along with her statue.And it there is a sentence below it saying "Children sacrifice too.Adult just can't see it,even the small things they give away just for the elders." End quote.

Her funeral was at the mountains foot along with the mini statue of her and it was one of the tourist spot now.

My heart ached while I was remembering this story.It was a great lost to us.

Mika kissed my cheeks and bid goodbye as she leaves the club's room.

I stayed at the room until 6:30 at the evening before locking it.

I'm gonna play COD tonight with my fans.

It's tiring.
