Shadow Hunter Mafia – Chapter 2
Contract Murder
Rain poured over the dark streets of Tokyo like silver knives falling from the sky. Midnight lights reflected on the wet roads while police sirens screamed in the distance. Somewhere inside the dangerous underground world, a new blood contract had just begun.
Inside an abandoned warehouse near the harbor, a group of mafia members stood silently around a long black table. Smoke filled the room. Guns rested beside whiskey glasses. Fear could be felt in the cold air.
At the head of the table sat a man wearing black gloves and a silver mask.
His name was Lucien — one of the hidden leaders of the Shadow Hunter Mafia.
He slowly placed a red file on the table.
“Tonight,” he said coldly, “a contract murder mission begins.”
Everyone became silent.
A photo slid across the table.
The target was a famous businessman named Edward Kane, a secret politician supporter connected to illegal weapon trading. Rumors said he had betrayed the mafia and secretly worked with the police.
Lucien’s eyes turned sharp.
“He dies before sunrise.”
Near the corner of the room stood a young assassin wearing a dark coat. Calm eyes. Cold expression. Dangerous aura.
His name was Akira Ren.
The deadliest assassin in Shadow Hunter Mafia.
Akira looked at the photo without emotion.
“When and where?” he asked quietly.
Lucien smirked.
“Tomorrow night. Grand Crystal Hotel. Private party on the rooftop.”
Another man stepped forward angrily.
“I should lead this mission!” shouted Damon, Akira’s rival inside the mafia.
Damon hated Akira because Lucien trusted him more.
Lucien slammed the table.
“Enough. Akira leads the mission.”
Damon’s fists tightened with jealousy.
Meanwhile…
Across the city, inside a peaceful university library, a girl quietly arranged books on the shelf. Her long brown hair moved softly as rain touched the window behind her.
Her name was Elena Hart.
Beautiful. Kind. Innocent.
Completely different from Akira’s dark world.
Elena loved reading mystery novels and dreamed of becoming a journalist one day. She had no idea her fate was about to collide with the mafia.
Suddenly the library lights flickered.
A loud thunder shook the building.
Elena looked outside nervously.
Something felt wrong tonight.
The next evening…
Grand Crystal Hotel glittered with luxury and wealth. Politicians, celebrities, and businessmen laughed under golden lights while soft music played in the background.
But hidden among the guests were killers.
Akira stood near the rooftop entrance wearing a black suit. An earpiece connected him to Shadow Hunter agents nearby.
“Target arrived,” a voice whispered.
Akira’s eyes focused on Edward Kane stepping onto the rooftop with security guards around him.
Lucien’s order echoed inside Akira’s mind.
No witnesses.
Akira calmly walked through the crowd.
Damon secretly watched from another corner with dark eyes.
“If Akira fails,” Damon whispered, “I’ll take his place.”
On the rooftop, Edward laughed while drinking wine.
“You politicians worry too much,” he mocked his partners.
At that moment…
BANG!
The lights suddenly exploded.
Screams filled the rooftop.
Chaos erupted.
Akira moved like a shadow through the darkness. In seconds, two bodyguards fell unconscious beside him.
Edward panicked.
“Protect me!”
Akira grabbed him near the railing.
“The Shadow Hunter Mafia sends regards.”
But before he could pull the trigger—
A girl’s scream interrupted everything.
“STOP!”
Akira turned sharply.
It was Elena.
She had accidentally come to the rooftop searching for her journalist professor who attended the party.
Her eyes widened in horror seeing the gun.
Akira froze for one second.
One dangerous second.
Edward suddenly punched Akira and escaped toward the elevator.
“Damn it,” Akira muttered.
Security alarms rang loudly.
Police sirens approached outside.
Damon smirked from the shadows.
“Mission failed.”
Akira quickly grabbed Elena’s hand.
“We’re leaving.”
“What?! Let go of me!”
But there was no time.
Gunshots exploded behind them.
Damon secretly shot at Akira, pretending enemies attacked.
Akira protected Elena and jumped through a side emergency stairway.
The entire hotel descended into panic.
Rain crashed heavily outside as Akira and Elena escaped through dark alleyways.
Elena struggled angrily.
“Who are you?!”
Akira stayed silent.
“You tried to kill someone!”
Still silence.
Finally Elena stopped walking.
“You’re mafia…”
Akira slowly looked at her.
“For your safety, forget tonight happened.”
Before Elena could speak again, headlights suddenly appeared.
BLACK SUVs surrounded the alley.
Doors opened.
Armed men stepped out.
Damon emerged with a cruel smile.
“Akira Ren,” he laughed, “Lucien isn’t happy.”
Akira instantly understood.
Damon betrayed him.
Elena whispered fearfully, “Who are these people?”
“Trouble,” Akira replied coldly.
Damon pointed his gun.
“Hand over the witness girl.”
Akira’s eyes darkened.
“No.”
Damon looked surprised.
“You protecting civilians now?”
Akira pulled Elena behind him.
“She saw nothing.”
Damon laughed louder.
“The Shadow Hunter Mafia doesn’t leave witnesses alive.”
Elena’s face turned pale.
Gunfire suddenly erupted.
Akira moved instantly, fighting Damon’s men with brutal speed. Punches, kicks, bullets — the alley became a battlefield under the rain.
Elena hid behind a car trembling.
She watched Akira fight like a monster born from darkness.
Within minutes, several men fell unconscious.
But Damon escaped before Akira could catch him.
Police sirens approached again.
Akira grabbed Elena’s wrist.
“Come.”
“Wait! I don’t even know you!”
“You’re already involved.”
They disappeared into the rainy night.
Hours later…
Akira brought Elena to a hidden apartment above an old ramen shop.
The room was quiet and simple.
Elena crossed her arms angrily.
“You kidnapped me.”
“I saved you.”
“You kill people!”
Akira removed his bloody jacket silently.
Elena noticed fresh wounds on his shoulder.
“You’re hurt…”
“It’s nothing.”
But blood continued dripping.
After a moment of hesitation, Elena opened a medical box nearby.
“Sit down.”
Akira looked surprised.
“Why help me?”
“Because even dangerous idiots need treatment.”
For the first time in years…
Akira smiled slightly.
A small smile.
But real.
Elena carefully cleaned his wound while rain tapped softly against the window.
“Why did you become like this?” she asked quietly.
Akira’s expression darkened again.
“I didn’t choose this world.”
Before Elena could ask more—
His phone vibrated.
A message from Lucien.
Mission incomplete. Return immediately.
Another message arrived anonymously.
Damon betrayed you. Trust nobody.
Akira narrowed his eyes.
The Shadow Hunter Mafia was beginning to crack from inside.
And someone wanted him dead.
The next morning…
News spread across Tokyo about the failed assassination attempt at Grand Crystal Hotel.
Police increased patrols everywhere.
Inside the mafia headquarters, Lucien sat furiously while Damon pretended innocence.
“Akira failed because of a civilian witness,” Damon explained.
Lucien’s voice became deadly calm.
“Then eliminate both.”
Damon smiled secretly.
“Yes, boss.”
Meanwhile…
Elena woke up inside the apartment alone.
Akira had disappeared.
But beside the table was breakfast and a short note.
Stay hidden.
Elena stared at the note quietly.
Why would a mafia assassin protect her?
Suddenly the apartment door burst open.
Three armed men entered.
“Eliminate the witness!”
Elena screamed.
But before the gunmen could move—
CRASH!
The window shattered.
Akira jumped inside like a storm.
Within seconds, brutal combat filled the room.
Elena watched in shock as Akira fought fiercely to protect her.
One attacker aimed directly at Elena—
BANG!
Akira shot him first.
Silence followed.
Heavy breathing filled the room.
Elena slowly looked at Akira.
“You came back…”
Akira lowered his gun.
“I said stay hidden.”
For a moment, neither spoke.
Then Elena quietly whispered,
“Why are they trying to kill me?”
Akira finally answered honestly.
“Because you saw the truth about Shadow Hunter Mafia.”
Outside, thunder roared again across Tokyo skies.
Far away in another dark building, Damon stood beside a mysterious woman with red eyes and silver hair.
Her name was Selene.
One of the deadliest contract killers in Asia.
She smiled coldly while looking at Akira’s photo.
“So,” she whispered, “the famous Akira Ren has finally found someone he cares about.”
Damon smirked.
“Kill the girl. Break him completely.”
Selene’s red lips curved into a dangerous smile.
“With pleasure.”
Back inside the apartment, Elena looked nervously outside the rainy window.
“Will this nightmare ever end?”
Akira stood silently beside her.
In his dark world, feelings were weakness.
But for the first time…
He feared losing someone.
And somewhere in the shadows, a far more dangerous war had already begun.
To Be Continued…
