Chapter 5- Something new

“Ahm no, ma'am, the president is not here….” Charlene heard the young receptionist, Chloe, saying to the short blonde hair lady wearing a body-con tight black dress. After giving herself time to rest for half-day, she left her house and went back to work in the afternoon. “Excuse me?” she excused, looking at the lady at the counter. Chloe smiled at her, “She’s looking for Mr. Davidson…” she sheepishly said to their big boss secretary. The lady turned around and arched her brow soon as she looked at her. “I demand to see Damien,” the lady answered. “Ohh!” Charlene said, “May I know your name?” she asked, “I’m Claris, and who are you?” The lady arrogantly replied at her. “Oh, yes! You are Claris,” Charlene delightedly said, “I’m sorry Mr. Davidson isn't available, but he left me a short message saying to deliver you a gift and flowers for an apology…I didn’t know you were here. I just arranged it for him. Our guy must be on his way to your place,” she explained before looking at Chloe. Pondering, “Ohh…” Blondie muttered, “I still want to see him!” she snarled again. “He’s on a business trip….” Charlene answered. “I’ll let him know, by the way. I’m Charlene, his personal secretary,” she added with a bright facetious smile. Blondie stared at her from head to foot. “Let him know I was here!” she said before turning around, leaving Charlene and Chloe puzzled. Once the lady left, “Wheew! Did you get her address?” Charlene asked Chloe, who was now wiping her sweats. “Yes!” “Then you know what to do, girl!” She said, smiling at the young lady. “Yes, I’ll call him now,” Chloe grinned, getting the receiver. “Is it a Claris with K or C?” she asked Charlene, “Damn…” Charlene mumbled, propping her arm at the counter, “Didn’t she write it?” “Nope, I secured to know her address first,” Chloe answered, “Make it C, I guess..” Charlene snorted, Dialing the phone, “Gotcha!” Chloe confirmed before talking to their usual guy for gift deliveries. After giving the details on the other line, she looked at Charlene. “What’s the record?” Charlene asked Chloe soon as she hung up the phone. “hmmm… Let me check,” Chloe mumbled, checking the sticky note. “We had two this week. The girl came after you and Pres left for France and then that lady today. It's already Friday afternoon now. Hope we are done for today,” She said, “Good!” Charlene smiled, “Is he up?” “Yup, just came right before the Claris came here,” “Okay,” Charlene huffed, “See you later, girl,” she bade, walking towards the elevator. “See you!” Arriving at her office, Charlene fixed the papers she would give to Damien for submission and review. After organizing it, she left her table and went out. She was about to knock when the door opened wide, and one of their office interns went out in haste. Her hair was a mess, and her office uniform was disarranged. The young lady smiled at her, “Hi!” she sheepishly greeted. Charlene’s brows furrowed before nodding, “Hello...” she said before the lady left. Shaking her head, she then went inside Damien’s office. There, she found him buckling his belt before buttoning his messy blue dress shirt—the room smelt s*x and sweat. Clearing her throat, “Boss…” she mumbled while Damien was busy raking his thick brown hair. “Charlene,” Damien was startled. Chuckling, “Here are the papers,” she said, walking towards her boss, “She’s our new intern, huh.” “Oh, really? I thought she was an employee,” Damien said, sitting down on his chair. “Not yet,” “Well, she’s nice… and good….” “I know, I can smell here,” Charlene agreed kiddingly. Damien cracked up before getting something from his table’s drawer. He brought out a spray can and started spraying everywhere. “How does it smell now?” Damien ribbed. Charlene laughed as well, “Still smells man-w***e” she kidded. She was so used to it. For two years, she already knew her Boss and friend’s escapades with women. He was a player. She and Chloe wager every week, counting how many women would barge in and ask for their boss’s name. She promised herself she wouldn't entangle her life with the men like Damien. Her boss was a great guy, though, just his antics what she didn't like. A couple of his flings and partners usually come to the office to talk to him. Still, like the scenario earlier, no lady had succeeded in coming up to his office, not unless Damien, himself, agreed. Damien chuckled, opening the folder Charlene just gave him, “Are these completed?” he asked, “Yup!” she answered, “Perfect!” Damien said as he read the first few pages. Charlene stayed for a while, “Boss, Claris was here. We just sent her the flowers and necklace,” she informed. “No casualties,” she added, giggling. “Huh?” Damien scowled. “Well, I just came here to inform you. I bet you don't remember her,” she teased. Damien smiled, “Thank you for cleaning up my mess,” he smiled at his trusted lady. “No worries,” Charlene said before turning around, leaving her boss alone. ~ Getting out of his sports car, Max was about to get inside his club's backroom door when someone approached him. “Nellie? W..what are you doing here?” he asked. It had been a week since he broke up with her, but he wasn’t expecting she would come to Paris and see him. “Max, please let us talk….” Nellie pleaded. Max observed the lady in front of him. Nellie’s eyes were red and dark. Her face was pale. “Nellie, we are done….” Max reminded. “I know, but please hear me out….” Nellie pleaded, Max puffed, “Okay, let’s go,” he agreed, going back to his car. Nellie got in, “Please don’t do this to me…” she said soon as she got inside the car, looking at Max. Shaking his head, “I thought you just wanted a great time?” he asked. “I can't live without you... I love you, Max.” Nellie said, “I left my partner because of you….’ she added, “What?” Max blurted out. He had no idea she was in a relationship with someone. “I left him because of you… please don’t leave me,” Nellie pleaded. Tears were falling from her eyes. He was scowling at Nellie. “I didn’t know that, and I don’t care, Nellie. I thought you are for hooking up,” Max said, “No…please don’t say that….” “Nellie, what happened to us was one pure and casual s*x. I don’t jump into any relationship….” “But you said you want me…did you just lie to me?... you said you like me….” Looking at Nellie, “I may be told that, but I don’t have any feelings for you!” Max bluntly replied, “I just wanted you in my bed,” he bluntly added. A full-hand and hard slap rang around the car. Max winced as he felt the pain on his face. “Bastard!” Nellie shouted, “Nellie…” Max mumbled, keeping his calm. “I believed you! You are such an assh*le!” “I’m sorry…you misunderstood me..” “Fu*k you!” Raising his voice, “I can’t love you! You must understand that!” he said, trying to make a point. Nudging his chest with her index, “I hope karma gets in your life. You are a piece of s**t!” she screamed before opening the door of his car to run away. Max gently rubbed his stinging face as he shook his head. He couldn’t blame Nellie. She must’ve had fallen deeply in his charm and sweet words, yet he couldn’t care less. He had received numerous slaps and screams from the women he broke up with, but for him, life goes on, and he knew somehow they would learn to move on. Getting out of his car again, he then went inside his club. It was still early, and he needed to sign some papers from his trusted Manager, Ellie, prepared for him. As soon as he entered his office, he found one of his flings, Rita, fully naked on the couch. Her long auburn locks were spreading on small pillows, legs wide open. Smirking, “What the hell are you doing here?” he asked, dropping his keys on the table. “I saw your car outside….” Rita answered right away. Smirking, “Well, well, well…” Max said, smiling as he approached his waitress and bartender. Like his other ladies, Rita was just another good lay. Standing up, “You ready for some?” Rita asked as she hovered her hands on his hard chest. Narrowing his eyes, “I guess so…” he mumbled, running his hand on her flawless arm, “I’m too tired to move though…” he demanded, “Make me happy,” “Oui, Monsieur,” Rita said as she knelt in front of her boss. Max gave in. He was too exhausted to do the business. He let Rita do what she wanted. Several groans and moans later, Max laid on his couch, tired but satisfied. Rita did a pleasuring job for him. Removing the con*dom from his still rigid member, he threw it to the garbage can as he pulled up his boxers. “You can leave now. I’m busy,” Max said to Rita, who was still panting on the floor. Looking at him, “I’m leaving France for good.” Rita spoke, Scowling, “Oh, is this your resignation letter?” Max asked, standing up as he went to the toilet. “Kinda… I’m getting married to this Chinese guy.” She shouted, getting up taking the bathrobe from the couch. “He wanted to marry me. I wanted to marry his money,” she frankly said. “Best wishes then,” Max said, leaving the toilet, zipping his jeans before buckling back his belt. “Thanks,” Rita replied, facing Max before hovering her hand on his hair, “I’ll miss us,” she whispered in his ear. Grabbing her cheek, “It has always been a pleasure to work with you,” Max said before kissing Rita passionately. “I’m going to miss you, though,” Rita broke the kiss. Chuckling, “I won't,” he replied “A*sshole,” Rita said before giggling. “I’ll send you the invites,” she added before heading to the door. Rita left his office. Max sat down on his swivel chair. He then started checking the folders resting on his table. Soon after, he heard soft knocks on his office door. “Come in!” He shouted, The door opened, and Ellie came in with two glasses of beer in her hands. “Sir Maxi!” she greeted, “I just saw Rita coming out. I bet you are thirsty…” she teased, “Ellie!” Max greeted back, “Thank you! I am,” he said, smiling, “I love the new haircut!” he praised. Placing the drinks on the table, Ellie fixed her short pixie blue hair, “My girlfriend did it for me.” she said before sitting down on his receiving chair. “Cheers!” Max offered, “Cheers, Max” Max smiled as he drank his beer. Ellie was his lesbian manager. He had known her for years. A trustworthy and honest employee. Her girlfriend was a hairdresser. “Tell Mindy I like it,” Max added, “I will,” Looking at her arms, Max noticed something. Ellie saw Max’s eyes, “And we got a matching tattoo as well!” she said, showing her lower arm with a dolphin tattoo. "Great, right?" Chuckling, “I’m jealous,” Max snorted. "I love it," He got a couple of Tattoos on his legs, arms and back, and now he wanted one more on his arm. “You should get it again, Maxi. I know this great guy,” Ellie said, “Will do,” Max responded as he sipped on his beer. “Someone was looking for you here,” “Nellie?” “I bet that’s what she told me,” “I broke up with her, that’s why….” “Oh, that makes sense,” “If she ever comes back, tell her I’m not here,” Max said, looking back at the paper, “Girls just doesn’t know when to stop,” he whispered. “I bet they don’t,” Ellie agreed as she drank her beer, “I got the reports from two other clubs as well. It's included there,” she added, prying at the paper. Nodding, “Yeah, we are not making much?” Max smirked as he saw the profits and incomes for the month on the paper. The earnings of one of the four bars and clubs went down for the past two months. “Yup,” Ellie popped the p, “I’m sorry,” “Well, what do you suggest?” he asked, looking at Ellie. “Sell it? and focus to the three other more,” she said, Thinking, “Should I?” Max asked. “It's still up to you,” Ellie answered, “We shall see, Ellie…I kind of wanted to venture to something new this time…” Max said. He was contemplating what Damien and his dad offered him days ago. “Well, just let me know, sir. I’d be happy to help you,” “Thanks, Ellie,”
