Episode 3

A slave who knew nothing

The supervisor was especially nice to Bianca because of Harry so that night, she assigned Bianca to a separate room for maids she favored. Unlike the usual maids’ room that housed over twenty maids, this room was only for four people. Bianca didn’t have to fight for space and she liked that.

When Alpha Alex’s order arrived, the supervisor ran to find Bianca. Now that even the Alpha was looking for Bianca, the supervisor concluded that Bianca must truly be a special person. She had begun to pray that she didn’t get beheaded when the Alpha found out how she had been mistreating Bianca all along.

The supervisor entered the room and tapped Bianca carefully. Bianca opened her eyes only to find the supervisor in such an alarmed state.

“Come out quickly,” The supervisor muttered. It sounded more like a request than an order. Bianca complied regardless and when they were outside the room, the supervisor told Bianca that she had been summoned by the Alpha. Bianca was shocked to hear this. This was more shocking than Lord Commander Harry coming out of nowhere to help her.

The supervisor led the way and Bianca followed.

“Erm… my lovely Bianca,” The supervisor muttered shakily.

“Yes, milady,” Bianca answered.

“You don’t have to be polite, Bianca. I know I have wronged you so much in the past. Can you forgive me, please? I was foolish!” The supervisor pleaded. Bianca wondered what was happening.

“I am not in a position to forgive you, milady. I am a mere slave…” Bianca tried.

“Please don’t say that again!” The supervisor replied sharply. “Only a few people have seen Alpha Alex even from afar. If he called you privately, it can only mean you are special.”

Bianca didn’t know what to expect with this gesture. Truly, she had no ties to Alpha Alex. She had only heard rumors about him, nothing more. Bianca stared at the supervisor in front of her. From her opinion, Bianca concluded that the supervisor must know something that she didn’t know.

“Do you perhaps know why I am being summoned?” Bianca asked.

“Well, that’s easy,” The supervisor said with a fake smile plastered on her face. “Lord Commander Harry is the commander of the royal guard and he came to see you this evening. Alpha Alex must have sent him to check how you are doing. I heard that Alpha Alex is getting new concubines. I believe that the Alpha wants you. That is the only reason he will summon you so late at night.”

Bianca’s heart skipped a beat. Surely, she had wanted to escape the cruel life as a slave. However, she had never thought of being a concubine to the Alpha. The thought worried her rather than excited her.

“We are here,” The supervisor announced. She walked up to one of the guards confidently.

“I am here with Bianca Rock, whom Alpha Alex requested. Grant us passage immediately,” The supervisor told the guards. Right at that moment, a young man came out of the great hall. The great hall was the place where the Alpha met with his subjects. He was dressed as a warrior but his armor was different from the other guards. His armor shone. It was undoubtedly expensive. The guards bowed as he came forward.

“Lord Ragnar,” One of the guards called him. “These women here are…”

“I know who they are,” Ragnar replied and turned towards the women. “Which one of you is Bianca?”

Bianca stepped forward.

“You will follow me,” Ragnar ordered. He led the way to the great hall and Bianca followed. As for the supervisor, the guards made her go back to where she had come from. The supervisor contemplated many options on her way back. Running away now would be better than dying from being beheaded when Bianca was announced as Alpha Alex’s concubine.

Ragnar Thane was from one of the wealthiest families in the Drakonvale pack. His family was in-laws to Alpha Alex’s family, and with this bond, they grew up as friends. Ragnar was a warrior just like Alpha Alex and many knew him as Alpha Alex’s most trusted retainer. As he led the way, Ragnar wondered what Alpha Alex wanted from a lowly slave like Bianca. She was beautiful, of course, but he didn’t think her beauty was enough to sway the Alpha into laying with such a lowly body. Ragnar admired the social status rules and he had so much pride in himself for being born into a prestigious family.

Bianca followed Ragnar and eventually, they entered the great hall. Unlike the rumors, the great hall was empty. When Ragnar announced Bianca’s presence at the top of his voice, Alpha Alex entered through a side door. Bianca fell to her knees in awe while Ragnar bowed his head.

Alpha Alex didn’t go to his throne. Rather, he approached Bianca.

“Raise your head,” Alpha Alex ordered. Bianca did as he commanded and he scanned her face with his ever-piercing eyes. Alpha Alex signaled with his eyes and Ragnar left the room, leaving Alpha Alex alone in the great hall with Bianca.

She was indeed beautiful. Alpha Alex wanted her.

“I never knew there was a jewel among my slaves. Your beauty is unmatched, Bianca,” Alpha Alex complimented her. Bianca bowed her head instantly.

“Your servant remains humble, Alpha!” Bianca bowed. Alpha Alex’s presence contained an aura she had never felt before. She was sweaty already and Alpha Alex could tell how nervous she was.

“I will get straight to the point,” Alpha Alex said confidently. “I am sure you know Harry.”

“He helped me this evening. How could I not know Lord Commander Harry?” Bianca said, her voice became more stable. She was gradually settling into this unusual presence.

“He wants you…” Alpha Alex revealed. “However, I want you as well. Although you are a mere, foolish maid, your beauty sets you apart from the rest. You are a maid who knows nothing, but I am willing to

accept you as my concubine. What do you say to this offer?”
