This time, I was certain Brennan was angry, and I had no idea why. The group had grumbled as they packed back up and mounted their horses. I had remained quiet as I got back on mine, even as Asher trailed after me, a worried look on his face. “I’m going to go talk to Brennan. There’s something wrong,” Asher muttered as he watched me climb onto the horse. My movements should have been smooth with my injuries healed, but the pain in my joints made me stiff, and I could hardly sit upright for the cramps that were plaguing my stomach.
