Asher ran at my side. I knew he could run faster in his wolf form than I could in my human form, but he didn’t take even a single step past me. Where he always was. It felt like it took hours to find Lorne on the way back. It probably was. The sun was going down already and with every inch of light they lost, it felt like Kiera was slipping away as well. Finally, the sun almost set, there was Lorne, running down the path, a bag slung over his shoulder and Asher by his side. Both were in their human form, and the irrational part of me was angry to see it, knowing they would have been faster if they’d been in their wolf form.
