Without the wolfsbane in my system any longer, we were able to resume our journey the next morning. I caught the looks I get from most of the wolves that rode with us. They ranged from resentment, probably for making them be questioned by Tarrin, to curiosity, to pitying. They all knew, now, that the poison hadn’t come from one of them, but from my own brother and his wife. My family. I kept my gaze locked forward, my shoulders tense as we rode.
