I stared down at the array of food in front of me, as I leaned on my hand and let out a yawn that was so big, it hurt my jaw. My eyes were half closed, and the only reason I was dressed and out of bed was the maid Brennan had sent in to get me ready for the day. A maid. Me. As if I couldn’t take care of myself after doing it my entire life. Still, it had gotten me up, even when I had wanted to sleep away the day. Preferably with my mate beside me. Except, he was already gone by the time I had woken up. My eyes blurred, and I found them closing, my brain drifting off, even as I pushed the food around on my plate, too tired even to eat. “Oh my,” a female voice said, and I pried my eyes open to see a blond woman standing in front of me, hands on her hips and a critical look in her eye.
