I smoothed down the skirt of my new dress, nerves dancing in my stomach as I walked to Brennan’s office. He had summoned me there, and I didn’t know why that made me want to run as fast as I could to get away. Maybe because summons had never been good for me in the past.
Taking a deep breath, I pushed open the door of his office and stepped inside. “You wanted to see me?” I asked. My voice shook a little, but Brennan didn’t seem to notice. He was frowning down at some papers in front of him, standing behind his desk.
“Yes, I need you to prepare. We must go to the northern border and speak with the humans there. I would like you to come along with me so I can officially present you to them. We will leave in the morning.”
