“And I was noticeably pregnant,” I finally said after a moment of silence.
“No. No, no, no. You are not fighting while you are pregnant. I will not risk you or our pup. You already put our pup at risk with the fight against Benson. I will not risk losing one or both of you. The answer is no,” Zyaire tells me.
“I’ve seen the future. Clearly, I’m going to be there whether you like it or not,” I stated matter-of-factly.
Zyaire frowns and opens his mouth to say something, but no words come out. He knows I have him beat. “Fine,” he finally grumbles and I smile, triumphant.
