Jade’s phone rang and rudely brought her to the present. Sunlight streamed into the summer house. The modern furniture and the hot sun were both in contrast to the dark cold night she was reminiscing about.
Jade had fallen asleep on the sofa where she and Scarlet had almost made love. She got up and walked to the kitchen counter where her phone vibrated with a shrill cry. She wasn’t a great fan of the instrument but Jono said it helped him remain connected to her, so did Lucas.
Who was calling her now? It did not sound like Jono’s ringtone. Most of her calls went to Lucas. He was the wall that people needed to meet before even thinking of an audience with her.
