Chapter14

JADE After talking to Damian for a while, my eyes scanned the room, trying to spot Jace. I didn't want him drinking too much because he always becomes a complete mess when he's drunk. When I couldn't find him anywhere, I excused myself from Damian and walked over to the corner where I had seen my brother earlier. Only Nathaniel, Theodore, and Isabella were there, and she was completely passed out on the table. I cleared my throat to announce myself. Liam stayed quiet, but Theodore looked me up and down, checking me out. Nico was also nowhere around, not that I cared. "Where is my brother?" I tried to keep my voice polite, masking my growing anxiety. "He's upstairs with Nico, in his room," Theodore answered with a grin, sounding amused by a joke only he knew. "You should probably check on him. He looks pretty wasted." I sighed inwardly. This was exactly what I dreaded. "Okay, thanks." Without waiting for him to finish, I turned toward the stairs. I wanted to grab my brother and leave. There was no point in staying until the end of this party, which was boring anyway. Damian wasn't the social type. Even though he tried to talk to me, I had to force myself to laugh at his dry jokes, and my throat actually hurt from the effort. Once I got upstairs, it hit me that I hadn't asked Theodore for directions. I ended up knocking on different doors, pausing a second before opening them. "Damn," I muttered under my breath, frustration kicking in. There were too many rooms. Soon, my knuckles started to ache, so I stopped knocking and just began turning doorknobs. When I reached one particular door, I pushed it wide open. The first thing I saw was a pair of fresh abs, still glistening with water. It looked like he had just stepped out of the shower. His hair was wet, and he was wiping it with a towel. The eagle and flower tattoo stood out boldly on the side of his neck. He stared back at me, his brown eyes tracking down my body as if I were a snack. Why was he shirtless, and why was my pulse suddenly racing? I forced my attention back to my brother to stop the crazy thoughts running through my head. As I bent down toward Jace, I heard a movement behind me. The sudden heat of his presence made me panic. I spun around, only to freeze at a sight I never imagined I'd see. The annoying jerk was fully hard, stepping back to watch how I would react. I bit my lip, my stomach twisting into tight knots. He stepped closer while I stood there like a statue, completely numb. "It's not what you think," he muttered quickly. Before I could even blink, he moved in, and we both went down onto the bed with him pinning me underneath. His breathing turned heavy, matching the frantic rhythm of my own chest. A wave of fear hit me, though I couldn't even tell what I was actually afraid of. Instead of fighting to get up, I stayed still as he settled between my thighs. I didn't push him away. This was the closest I had ever been to a guy, and a strange, shameless anticipation started to override my panic. ~Wait. This is the same guy who stood by and watched them bully your brother without doing a single thing~ I reminded myself My mind snapped out of the spell. I tried to push his chest away with my right hand, but he caught my wrist instantly, as if he anticipated the move. A dark, mischievous smirk spread across his face, an expression I had never seen on him before. I swung my other hand up, but he grabbed that one too, pinning both of my wrists above my head. When he lowered his face, his warm, damp lips brushed against my neck, sending a shiver straight to my stomach. I hated the vulnerability creeping in. I didn't want him to know he was getting to me, because he would definitely use it to mock me later . "Get off me! Your weight is killing me," I snapped, forcing a harsh edge into my voice to hide how weak I actually felt. The jerk just tilted his head, staring down at me as if I had said something impossible. "I'll get up on one condition," he murmured. "What condition?" I whispered, my defenses crumbling. "Call me 'Daddy'." His voice dropped to a deep, intense tone, his eyes locking onto mine with clear desire as he bit his lip. That was ridiculous. There was no way I was saying that. Yet my heart was in total chaos, pounding against my ribs. "If you're waiting for me to say that, you're dreaming. I'm not doing it," I insisted, trying to sound firm. "Oh, I get it. You're actually enjoying this, you just won't admit it," he taunted with a grin. "Though I guess I wouldn't mind if your new favorite person, Damian, walked in on us right now." I couldn't understand why he was bringing Damian into this. He was acting like a jealous husband, which made me roll my eyes. An unreadable expression crossed his face before he buried his head back into my neck. Before I could guess his next move, I felt his teeth sharp against my skin. It didn't hurt; he was careful, but the sensation brought a sudden wave of goosebumps across my skin. A quiet moan escaped my lips before I could stop it. His hand drifted down to caress my thigh, the cold metal of his ring pressing against my bare skin. Then he moved back up to my cleavage, his tongue tracing my skin. Another gasp caught in my throat. When he finally paused, my thoughts were a tangled mess. "Are you going to say it now, or do you want me to keep going with the torture?" he teased, looking down at me. "Go to hell," I breathed out, struggling to catch my breath. He clearly loved seeing how much control he had over my body. He released my wrists, but surprisingly, I didn't use my freedom to push him off. I just stayed there, waiting to see what he would do next. His hands roamed freely over my skin, taking up space as if he owned it. Within seconds, his mouth trailed down from my chest to my stomach, leaving wet kisses, before moving down to my thighs. I watched him, biting my lip so hard it almost bled. It felt like watching a movie on a highly corrupted channel. His eyes locked back onto mine. Then, he leaned down lower, pressing a kiss right through the fabric of my panties. My eyes rolled back as an intense, overwhelming pleasure washed over me. This annoying jerk was making me feel things I had never experienced. I had never had a boyfriend, and I never planned on it either. I didn't believe in love or marriage because of the way my father treated my mom. He was completely controlling, never letting her do anything that made her happy unless he approved it first. I refused to live that kind of life, so I had always kept my distance from guys entirely. Until now.
