Upon opening the door, she saw the butler, Brooks, standing in the doorway.
"Miss, Mr. Vance asked me to give you this business card."
Brooks respectfully presented a business card.
Clara took it, and Brooks took his leave.
After closing the door, she stared at the business card for a long time, her beautiful eyes gleaming. Wasn't this Dominic Vance's exclusive business card? Only ten were made worldwide, insured for a total of thirty million dollars in anti-piracy insurance. Rumor had it that with this card, a holder could request help from any company under the Vance Corporate Group, granting any kind of favor.
Is this considered payment?
She put the beautiful crystal business card into her wallet.
"I took a bullet for you and accepted your gift. There's nothing wrong with that."
Clara suddenly had an idea. In her previous life, she worked at the Vance Corporation and was very familiar with their upcoming major projects. Why not submit her resume to Vanguard Media, a major entertainment subsidiary of the Vance Group, and become a personal assistant to the future movie star Adrian Sterling?
She remembered that in the early summer of her eighteenth year, Adrian Sterling was still a complete newcomer, practically invisible. But in the autumn of that year, Adrian became famous, and incredibly famous.
Clara thought that if she followed Adrian when he was still down on his luck, served him carefully, and treated him sincerely, her future dividends and bonuses would definitely be high. As she thought about it, the smile on her lips grew wider and wider.
She turned on her computer, sent out a resume to Vanguard Media, a subsidiary of the Vance Group, and then got up and changed her clothes, looking beautiful.
A white T-shirt paired with a denim overall skirt gave off a youthful and energetic vibe.
At noon, she walked down the high street, looking for a familiar restaurant with good food to have lunch.
The summer sun shone on her, and she gave the impression of a rising sun.
"Pull over!"
Inside the black Bentley, Dominic’s deep, slightly cold voice carried an irresistible power.
The driver found a place to park the car.
Dominic opened the car door and headed towards the storefront Clara had just entered.
He spotted Clara in a seat near the window.
Her long, dark hair cascaded smoothly down her back, and her peach-like lips were contentedly biting into a mousse cake.
A touch of rosy blush graced her apple-like face. She was exquisitely beautiful, innocently charming.
Dominic felt that she was becoming more and more to his liking.
Ignoring the beautiful women who kept approaching him to chat, he walked straight to the window seat.
"I never imagined we'd meet again so soon."
Dominic raised a slant of his narrow, captivating phoenix eyes, exuding a natural charm. Yet, the coldness and imposing aura of a superior remained undiminished.
Not being on Dominic's turf, Clara wasn't that averse to him. Plus, the delicious food she'd just enjoyed had put her in a good mood, so she casually pushed the menu towards him: "Choose whatever you like! It's on me today!"
The expression on her face looked so carefree and natural, as if the person sitting in front of her was not the man who could make the entire country tremble with a stomp of his foot, but just an ordinary person who was destined to meet her.
Dominic rested his chin on his hand, glanced at her with his narrow eyes, and casually tapped the menu with his finger: "That's all!"
"Server, please bring these dishes."
She waved to the cute waitress who walked by.
The pretty waitress stared at Dominic for a long moment, her eyes practically glued to him.
