Trembling with anticipation, Grant took a step inside and scanned the room. No sign of Rafael. His alpha side howled. Had the little s**t already rescued himself?
A soft groan sounded from the bathroom. His omega was here.
As a precaution, he dragged one of the straight-backed chairs to the hallway door and jammed it under the knob.
He strode to the bathroom and pushed open the door. Desire, blended with sorrow, swept through him. Rafael was there—near naked and wickedly alluring—but crumpled on the floor, weeping. Driven to ease his errant omega’s pain, Grant dropped to his knees and smoothed the dark waves of hair hiding the man’s face. “Hush now, I’m here. It’ll be all right.”
