Kell's Persistence to Meet Father Harry

One day, Kell is so excited to face the new day. She went to their prayer room and happily shared her thoughts with God. She says, “My God, thank You for this new day that you have given me. I am happy because all my family members are all healthy, I am healthy and gay, and everything seems to be nice. I am here in front of you to offer this whole day with happiness and excitement. When I was a kid, I have dreamed of meeting a priest and I promised You, God remember… I promised you that I will also become one, since I’m a girl, I’m going to be a nun. But I am once again sorry, God because I have met someone who will not make me a nun… and that is my boyfriend, Albert. I know you understand. AMEN.”

Right after, she went to the kitchen and ate her breakfast. She called Albert, and they had a sweet talk just like the usual. Then, Albert promised Kell that he will arrange a formal dinner for Father Harry and her. He knows that it is one of the dreams of his girlfriend that is why it will make her dreams come true. Albert told Jette and Drew about it and they did know how to react. They know what happened to Father Harry because the latter told everything to them. They do not know if Father Harry will approve the meeting with Kell.

“Darling, is it okay if we do not rush everything?” asked Jette.

“Why Mom? Kell really wants to meet Father Harry. Is it too much to ask?” said Albert.

“What your Mom is trying to say is that we need to schedule it to a non-hectic date,” explained his Dad.

One day, Kell got really persistent. She insisted in meeting Father Harry and decided to entrap the priest. The priest received a call from the monastery and was asked by the staff to report to the office.

* At the Office *

Staff: Father, I’m glad you are here.

Father Harry: Why the rush?

Staff: The head of the Charity Club that pledged for a dozen of food packs for the poor homeless families is here.

Father Harry: Really? Wow, that’s good news. Where is she?

Staff: She’s over there.

The priest proceeded to the receiving area. She saw a girl facing at the windows.

“Father, I am sorry I cannot face you this time. It seems that you don’t want to see my face. I just want to meet you that’s why I set this all up,” explained Kell.

“Who are you?” asked Father Harry.

“I am Kell, girlfriend of Albert. But as I have been observing their actions, it seems that you don’t want to meet me. Why Father? Did I do something wrong?” asked Kell.

Because of that, Father Harry immediately locked himself inside his room. Tearful Kell was forced to return home without any good news to share to Albert.

While locking himself inside his room, Father Harry has repeated thoughts.

That is why he decided to write a letter to Kell. He felt sorry for the kid.

Dear Kell,

I am sorry for how I acted the first time we met. I heard you are dying to meet me. Why is that so? I am so thrilled knowing that there is someone who is hoping to meet me and somewhat likes me as me. But, admittedly, when I saw you the first time, you just reminded me of someone who caused trauma on me in my childhood. You resemble much. I don’t know why but I just feel unwell whenever you’re near. I just can’t help it. Please do understand. Here is my story…

I was a kid then, everybody is living well. My family, my Mom, Gaymo and my Dad, Galleon. We own a University and one of my classmates then was Marina. She is so kind and we used to play all the time. Our parents too were friends. We could hang-out so many times before.

One day, we went to the nearby beach resort to celebrate my 5th birthday. Then, while Marina and I were playing in the shore, somebody gave me a candy. I took it thinking it’s her gift for my birthday. I said thank you, then the next thing I knew is I am inside a van, and Marina is no longer there. I cried a lot.

We arrived at the place of destination. I was knotted at the back of my arms. I was really hurt. They did not give me food for 3 days. They kidn*pped me for the purpose of extorting millions from my parents. The abductor told me that if ever I will be kind, she will give me something to eat. She is Hilary. I knew her name because her companions call her Hilary.

The next day, they left me alone inside an abandoned house. I am decided to skip from the a*******n. I missed my parents already. But her people tried to pull the trigger on me, and somebody defended me. His name is Martinez. He adopted me. I tried to talk to him convincing him to bring me back to my parents. But he said, my Dad was killed while looking for me. He found the kidnappers, and Hilary herself was the one who killed my Dad. They just made it appear that my Dad died a natural death, an accident probably, I don’t know. But the truth is Hilary used a g*n to kill him.

I cried after that, I convinced Martinez to bring me to my Mom. He needs me that time, but when I arrived there, my Mom was bed-ridden and I witnessed her last breath. But now that John explained to me how tricky that scene was, I now realized that the k********g incident and the death of my Dad made my Mom a monster now.

You know Kell, my Mom humbled herself when she said sorry to the family of Albert, to Mario and Fatima. She even considered them friends. She just doubted their loyalty because I got kidn*pped while we were together in one place. She was made to believe that the persons behind my k********g were them.

I don’t know but you look exactly like Hilary. It made me anxious and the trauma keeps reminding me of how painful it is. Please give me time to know you better, Kell.

Upon receiving the letter, Kell disappeared. They, not even Albert, do not know where she went. Meanwhile, the life of Jette and her family became peaceful and happy.

AFTER 3 YEARS…

Kell returned to the town.

The first thing she did is to visit Father Harry by portraying to be a philanthropist.

“Thank you, Mrs. Rooj for donating a lot for the monastery. We can renovate this church and add some prayer rooms for people who want to pray in silence and peace, without any distraction,” said Father Harry.

Kell held Father Harry’s hand, and shook it.

“You are always welcome, Father Harry,” said Kell.

Father Harry happily smiled at Kell and Kell could not contain the happiness inside. She told herself that it is something she longed dreamed of.

After that, she proceeded to the office of Albert.

“Albert, it is nice to see you again,” happily said Kell and she ran towards him and hugged him.

Albert pushed her away.

“Who are you? Do I know you, Miss?” asked Albert.

Then it slowly sinks in the mind of Kell that she’s now a different person. She’s Mrs. Rooj already, married to a wealthy old man who died in a plane crash 2 years ago. She was with him in that plane, but she managed to survive, probably because of her young age. But her face can no longer be recognized. She underwent a major plastic surgery.

Kell decided to leave.

While inside her condo unit, she keeps on thinking whether she will confess to Albert or what. There are also a lot of questions running in her mind.

Is Albert still single?

Did he look for her?

On the other hand, Albert is alone drinking wine while looking at their swimming pool. He keeps repeating the instance when the unknown woman ran towards him and hugged him tight. She reminds him of a person he knows long ago.

“Can I too have a sip?” asked a woman’s voice.

“Yes, of course,” said Albert.

Yes, Albert already is married. He is married to the woman he met inside the psychiatric hospital 3 years ago. Yna, the nurse in-charge for his total wellness. Albert got depressed when Kell disappeared. Yes, it was manageable but Drew and Jette decided to admin Albert to a psychiatric hospital because of his childhood condition. They were afraid it might recur because of what he experienced. Luckily, upon coordination with the Doctor, they found out that Albert did not take any medication for his depression because he found a human pill, and that is Yna. They were blessed with one kid named Alyna.

The question now that roams around the mind of Albert is the identity of the woman who hugged him. Who is she? Why did she appear all of a sudden, and casually asked him how he is. Is she Kell? That is the question that he wishes to be untrue.

At the office, Albert asked the secretary as to the identity of the visitor yesterday. The secretary said, it is Georgina Rooj, from the Rooj and Rooj Companies. The secretary gave him the calling card which Kell left.

He decided to call her.

ON THE PHONE:

“Hello, Mrs. Rooj speaking, who is this?” asked Kell.

“Good day, Mrs. Rooj. This is Albert, well I am sorry if I could not recognize you yesterday when you visited. You know, I had some condition and was admitted to a hospital years ago. Probably, that’s the reason why some of my memories were erased,” said Albert.

“Oh, really? What happened to you?” Can I come to your office?” asked Kell.

“Okay, see you then,” said Albert.

WHEN SHE CAME…

“Hello Mrs. Rooj, come take a seat,” welcomed Albert.

“Can you please help me recall you?” added Albert.

“I am………….. Uhhmm.. Wait, may I know first why were you hospitalized years ago?” asked Kell.

Albert closed his eyes, and while listening to the voice of Kell, she immediately recognized the voice.

“Why did you disappear all of a sudden?” asked Albert

Startled by what she heard, Kell immediately stood up, “I better go,” she said.

“Kell… I know it’s you… Why all of a sudden?” asked Albert.

“You will not understand, it’s better this way,” said Kell.

Kell starts walking away.

Albert shouted, “I NEARLY DIED BECAUSE OF YOU!!!!!!!!!!!”

Kell stopped and looked at Albert, and cried hardly.

“You will not understand Albert everything. I chose to go my own path because I could not afford to see you miserable because of me,” said Kell.

“Now, you are already married with a kid. I bet you’re happy already. Who am I to destroy it? I just thought you were still single that’s why I hugged you, but I suddenly stopped my fantasy when I saw a family portrait on your table.

Everything will be clear at the right time.

I will just have to talk to your Mom and Father Harry… Albert, please stay out of this. I don’t want you to get involved. Protect your family. Let me just stay in your past as a happy memory.

Both of them cried while bidding good bye to each other. Albert did not follow her and allowed her to leave because admittedly, he loves his wife already… so much… and their kid is the most important person in the whole world for him.

Past is past… and they both decided to move on…
