"Ahh!!" The man yelled as he fell into the darkroom. Leonardo grasped him.
Jasmine was walking down the hallway, opening all the rooms she had come across. She felt something was fishy.
Bam! Bam! It sounded like a hammer pounding on a tough nail.
"Where could that sound be coming from?" She paused and turned her head toward the room. Leonardo was there when she arrived.
When she opened the door, it was dark and she couldn't see a thing.
"Who is there?" She inquired when she heard the sound of a man struggling to speak, and droplets of blood landed on her face.
"Who is there?" She inquired, walking into the room.
Leonardo was furious, stabbing the man on the wall like a manic with a golden dagger.
She could sense someone in the room and the sounds the dagger was making. She touched her face, took off her mask, and took out her phone. She switched on the lights and saw Leonardo and his gang tying the man to the ceiling fan. The sight was dreadful.
"Hey!" Levi screamed and swatted the phone from her grasp with his leg. She couldn't get a glimpse of their faces because they were putting on masks.
"Let go of him, you murderer!" Jasmine yelled and ran towards Leonardo.
Levi and Olivia jumped out of the window together. Leonardo knew that Jasmine was a pain in the butt. He pushed her away and started running towards the window. She held onto his suit. He kicked her hard in the face, but she didn't bulge. He wasn't the type that hit women, but Jasmine was crossing the line.
He hit her hand off his suit and jumped out the window. Jasmine managed to grab his mask.
"Murders!!" She yelled at the top of her lungs, looking down the window as she saw Leonardo and his gang climbing down the building with a rope.
"She has got my mask. I am not leaving without it." Leonardo stated.
"Boss, just let it go." Olivia stated.
"My fingerprint is in that mask." Leonardo declared.
"Darn it!" Levi stated as he jumped down the rope with Olivia.
Leonardo started climbing up the building with the rope.
"Be on the lookout. I don't know why he had to invite a cop to the masquerade ball," Olivia remarked.
"You think she's a cop? She doesn't look like one," Levi stated.
"Don't you know her? She's Jasmine Robinson, the town's famous detective, who appears at every crime scene as if she's the devil." Olivia muttered.
"No wonder she was so hot." Levi complained.
"I pray the boss managed to get his mask back. Let's be on the lookout. " She said, looking sideways.
"We couldn't even kill all the politicians on sight." Olivia snarled, folding her hand.
"I know that's our motor, but dude aren't you happy that we managed to get rid of the target? I hope you took the man's clothes," Levi stated.
"All of them," Olivia remarked with an evil grin.
Jasmine's heart was pounding. It was the first time in her detective career that she witnessed someone commit a crime, and she couldn't do anything to help it. It hurt her ego.
"All my Tae Kwon Do classes have gone to waste." She grunted and sighted her phone on the floor, whose lights were blinking.
"It's no longer working," she thought while staring at the phone.
When Leonardo fell back into the room.
"Stand back or I will shoot. I have a gun." She threatened. Moving one leg back into a fighting stance.
Leonardo held his nose. "I don't see any gun." He said and walked closer to her. Jasmine couldn't see in the dark and was wondering how he knew where she was.
An electric current ran down her spine as their skin brushed. He grasped the mask from her.
Jasmine pounced on him and held his leg.
"I won't let you go. You are a murderer." Jasmine muttered, trying to take back the mask from him.
"Delinquent," Leonardo said, in a rumbling tone, and pushed her away.
"Ahh!!" She screamed and landed on her face as he fled.
"Jaz, are you okay?" She heard Caleb's voice. He switched on the lights in the room.
"What the hell?!?" He exclaimed, staring at the man who was hanging on the fan with blood dripping all over the place.
He ran to Jasmine on the floor. There was a bloodstain on her face.
"Are you alright? How did this happen?" Caleb inquired.
"I told you to be on the lookout. I just encountered some serial killers. They were so heartless that they slaughtered him like he was some kind of animal." Jasmine complained, staring at her hand that had a bruise.
"They are indeed heartless. Let's go. We can't stay here any longer. Before the security think we killed him," Caleb stated, extending his hand to her.
"I can stand up on my own." Jasmine stated through clenched teeth, walking out of the room with him.
"Who is there!!" A security officer inquired, flashing a giant touch light in their faces.
"Run! Run!" Caleb yelled, and they both took to their heels, running to the other direction of the hallway.
The security started running after them.
"Why are we running? We are detectives." Jasmine muttered.
"Where is your badge?" Caleb questioned.
"s**t! It's in my bag back at the party." Jasmine replied.
"I will go get it. Go and save yourself." Caleb said he was opening a door for her that led to a musty stairway that could also use some serious work.
"I can't leave without you, we are in this together." Jasmine said, looking at him with a confused expression.
Caleb looked at her with a poker face. "Let's go." He groaned. He knew she was a stubborn lady.
They turned back and saw that the security was nowhere to be found.
"He must have gone to that room." Jasmine commented, running in the hallway with him.
They walked down the stairs back to the party, trying their best to act as if nothing had happened. The people at the party were busy dancing.
Jasmine used her hand to wipe the blood off her face as she walked to the table where her bag was and grasped it.
"Let's get out of here." She declared.
"Hold it right there!" A bombastic voice was heard. Jasmine and Caleb froze at the spot as the music went off.
