“HI Thorn!”
Angela’s heart pounded on what Andres said. She was currently talking with him in Skype. And when she looked back, she saw Thorn. It seems like he already got back home from work. He went to her and sit beside her. He kissed her in the lips.
“Aw, sweet!” Andres commented.
Angela’s face reddened. She felt giddy but at the same time embarrassed, too. She doesn’t want Andres to witness that.
Thorn just laughed at the situation. He looked at the screen. “Hey, little boy. How are you?”
“I’m good now. It seems like Angela is in a good mood, too. Her face has color now.”
Thorn looked at her. His face was worried. “Are you not feeling well again?”
Angela shooked her head. “It’s Andres. His chemotheraphy result is not good. He vomited.”
“Oh…”
Andres sighed in the other line. “You worry too much, Ate. I’m fine. I’m going to be fine.”
Angela’s eyes watered. She wanted to hug Andres. She wanted to care for him and make sure he is well. “I missed you so much.”
“I missed you too, Angela. I will see you soon…” Andres’ nurse went to the screen and said it was time for his medication. Andres said good bye.
When Andres left, she cried. Thorn hugged her. “Hush now. He looks okay.”
“It looks like he is in so much pain. I don’t like that.”
“You really love your brother…”
“God knows how much…”
Thorn nodded. He released her from his embrace. He gave her his suitcase. She was confused. “Why?”
Thorn smiled. “Open it. I have something for you.”
“Why? I’m not a baby to gift gifts.”
He grinned. “But as my wife, I also want to treat you as my baby…”
Angela’s eyes reddened again. For the past days, she is getting to know Thorn. He is really charming. And she is a weak lady so she was charmed, too.
Angela followed what Thorn said. She opened the suit case. She almost cried when she saw what’s inside.
“Two tickets to Singapore. Oh God…”
There’s only one meaning for it: she will meet Andres! It’s been years since she last saw him.
“I want us to go for a honey moon. I want to asked you where do you want to go. But then, I realized I also want to meet your brother. So it’s a double purpose trip.”
“Thank you so much. You don’t know how much you made me happy…” She kissed him because of so much happiness.
“You’re welcome.” Thorn cupped her cheeks. “I’m also happy that I made you happy, Angela.”
Angela’s heart melted. When was the last time someone cared about her this way? She doesn’t remember now. She doesn’t feel special on her family.
Her mom is always busy. Her career is more important than her family. While his Dad is a sickly person. Because of that, he cannot take care of her.
How come a stranger like Thorn cared for him like this? Maybe it’s expected that he will care for him because he is now her husband. But this felt too much. If Thorn loves her, she will understand his actions.
But no. Thorn doesn’t said anything about love. She also knew that he loves someone else.
Maybe Thorn just want their relationship to make it work. . Or maybe, he really knew how to make a woman special.
If so, even though without love, Angela is one lucky lady.
