“Athena I’m here, no one will hurt you I promise that” A familiar masculine voice called out to me in my nightmares. I whimpered swallowing in a sob as I buried my head deeper in his chest, his strong arms caging me in his comforting hold. “Shh, it’s okay I’m here” his cooing made my racing heart calm down. Feeling his hand rubbing my back.
I was lulled back to sleep by his soothing voice and caress only this time it wasn’t plagued with my terrors, no it was calm and peaceful.
