CHAPTER 25: DATE TO REMEMBER

2024 Words

Phoenix and I have walked quite a ways from the pack house at this point, leading me through the beautifully budding and bountiful garden full of life and the sound of happy critters feasting in the fruit trees. The concrete lined pathway eventually turned into a path of pebbles, all the way until reaching a highly traveled grassy walkway through a meadow. But now I understand why he wanted me up early. The long walk was great exercise before resting for a breakfast picnic by the lake. However, we missed the sunrise over the lake, and that was my fault. I feel shame for ruining the surprise. But the beauty I have witnessed already was more than enough to brighten the start of my day. Phoenix walks me up to a waterproof blanket lined with an assortment of plush pillows and art supplies.
