CHAPTER 4ANY MORE? For the rest of the weekend, Ryan struggled with images of the little girl darting out in front of the fire truck. In actuality, though, he struggled more with the driver’s admonishment. What a freaking jerk, thought Ryan. It had been only by the grace of God, or more likely by blind luck, that the inattentive i***t didn’t roll right over the kid. Screw him.
