CHAPTER 13HALLUCINATIONS
After leaving the hospital, Ryan sat in his jeep and cried until the January cold seeped into his bones and insisted upon his retreating home. It was too late for the girls to awake but as he approached the house, a single lamp threw its light out onto Salisbury road. Kelly must still be up and working in the study. Ryan stumbled out of the jeep and slipped in the side entrance. He quietly poured himself a shot of bourbon. After downing a second, he tiptoed up the back staircase.
