“Hello darling” axel smiled upon me like I was his sun. Perhaps at one point I was. But now he was my moon- the eternal darkness that overtook me as he put the final nail in my coffin.
“Hello, Axel. Excuse me for a moment I think I ought to mingle with the people.” I plaster upon my best fake smile that didn’t quite reach my eyes. He either didn’t notice or didn’t comment as he gave a curt nod and wandered off. Stoping to give me a curious glance but continuing onwards.
“Tilly, there’s something I must attend to but I need you to do me a favor and excuse my absence” it was a long shot to ask this of her- we weren’t particularly close until later on in life but she was a true friend and smiled and nodded. Clearly thrilled the alphas daughter trusted her. I did trust her- she was the only one who died with me.
I slipped out the back door watching as Tilly made an excuse of me needing a moment to myself. I would save her in this life, I would save all who I lost.
I wandered into my fathers office. He was too cocky to ever lock the door, believing everyone too afraid to cross him. I used to be afraid of him as well until I learned he was a coward. He used my mother to make all his strategic moves, and in the end he led her to her demise. Like a puppet he followed along with the plan. I knew in his own way he was trying to do the best by his pack. I couldn’t overlook his betrayal.
I pulled up the faked document out of his desk and replaced it with a different one. Knowing my father he wouldn’t bother looking at the letter beforehand. Being utterly too cocky- I shouldn’t be surprised.
I licked the letter closed and addressed the outside the same as the original- chucking the original in the fire as I quietly left the office.
My father wanted to put on a show, and I would give him one.
