Nichole rode her motorcycle into the Royal Grand Court Hotel. Which was the top hotel in the entire S city. The hotel security guard was stunned as soon as they saw her, presumably had not seen anyone rode a motorcycle toward the Royal Court Hotel.
"Miss Gale, you have arrived. The vice president is waiting for you inside."
As soon as Nichole parked her motorcycle, a man who looked like a bodyguard came over and invited her politely to enter the hotel.
Her eyebrows arched up befuddle.
'Vice president?'
'I thought Henry said the person I would meet was Tyler's assistant?'
'That punk. Did he fool me again?' She pondered.
Instead, to speak and ask who is the vice president is, she remains silent and did not speak while following the bodyguard into the hotel.
Royal Grand Court Hotel was designated luxuriously and magnificently. Every corner and wall was beautifully decorated. It's screams nobility and the owner's wealth. The Hotel under Escliffe's Corporation was owned by the largest wealthy family in the S City. Anyhow, Nichole was not attracted by the hotel's grandeur at all. To her, all hotels are the same and moved her sight away.
However, Nichole didn't know that every movement of hers was observed by an anonymous man ever since she followed and enter the hotel.
There was no light in the most luxurious presidential suite on the top floor, and darkness covered everything. He was sitting dashingly in front of the surveillance camera on his laptop and staring at Nichole through it.
The man wore an orthodox black suit and a black shirt, he had broad shoulders and a narrow waist. His face was cold and handsome, and his whole body exuded a kind of dignity that no one could come in, his temperament was so kingly and mysterious. Other than him, there were four bodyguards dressed in suits and leather in this room. Two of them standing not far behind the man and another two stood at the room's entrance.
Outside the door was guarded by the manager of the Royal Court Hotel.
The pomp was great and the atmosphere was tense. Because the man who was was sitting and watching Nichole's every movement was no other than but, the President of Escliffe Corporation. David Tyler Escliffe.
His beautiful deep black eyes were fixed only on Nichole, who doesn't think David was watching her intensely and not blinking. Nichole had a natural beauty that can attract anyone even dressed plainly, with just a white T-shirt and coal-black cropped trousers, her hair flowed down perfectly to her slender waist. She was simply breathtakingly beautiful.
In David's mind. She's certainly fit to be his nominal wife!
He didn't know that coming back to the hotel to escape the others from pestering him to be eagerly married off to their daughters would be a blessing in disguise to coincidentally met that daring woman here.
"Are you sure she's my future wife?" David asked the guard on his side.
The man slightly bows in the dark. "From what I've heard from Sir Adam call, yes. It seems that she's the one."
"Heh, this will gonna be fun... She dares to offend me, let's see what punishment I would give to her." He said, and brush his lips in excitement.
"I'm really looking forward to seeing her as my wife.."
Suddenly, He heard soft footsteps outside the hall coming up to the door someone opened and pushed the thick heavy door and revealed another man in a blue cerulean suit.
He clicks the light's bottom beside the wall and walked over to the side of the marble black glass desk where David was.
The spacious office becomes instantly bright, there was a black desk in the middle of the room. The color of the entire room was only black, white, and grey. The cold and hard aura perfectly matched the owner's temperament.
When the man stepped in, his emerald green eyes were straight glued onto a noble and lazy man, who was sitting on the big chair behind the desk.
Seeing him coming, David didn't move his gaze away from his laptop on the table with a prosaic voice, he asked. "What's up, Adam?"
"I thought you have an important business trip this weekend with the shareholders. What brings you here suddenly, David? " He straightforwardly asked showing no emotion in his face only doubts.
"Nothing I just want to have a good look at my future wife. Got a problem with that?"
Did the sunrise in the west?
David had a busy schedule every day, there's no way he would come up here just to have a looked at his future wife. A workaholic person liked David who doesn't have a small piqued interest in a woman and saw all of them as mercenary gold diggers. Now, who would bother to cancel his fully booked schedule and come up here to have a glance? His reason was too way unbelievable. That Adam doubts it.
"Seriously..."
After hearing that, Adam glance at David's laptop in front of him. Once Adam saw the surveillance video of a beautiful figured woman walking calmly with a bodyguard guiding her into a guest room, he now understood what he means.
He looked back to David. "She's not your official wife, David."
Adam said, of the figured woman in the surveillance video. Which is Nichole.
David frown, his's expression was still cold as water. "Are you fooling me, Adam?"
"Do you think I have a mood to fool you? She's one of the candidates we were choosing to be your suitable acting wife, based on the criteria that you sent me. Therefore she's not yet your wife." He replied.
"What the."
He spits out and he gave a burning glared to the guard earlier. Adam doesn't tell him anything about gathering all the women in the S city to be his suitable wife, he just trusted him to find a perfect wife he can present to his family within 3 days. From how competitive and trustworthy Adam is, David surely trusted him in handling this matter seriously.
"My- My apologies, Master. I commit a grave mistake."
The man was trembling in fear, he is sweating profusely.
David hiss, his face turned dark. "Leave, and receive your punishment. After that, I don't wanna see your face anymore."
He staggered dumbstruck, he promptly kneels on the ground and constantly begs for his mercy. "P-please... I beg you, Master David, If I lost my job now, I can't feed my family anymore. I am the only person they can depend on. I beg your forgiveness Master David, I'll be careful next time, I- I will accept any punishment you would give to me, just please don't fire me. Master David."
Any punishment?
It should be death! But, for the sake of his poor mother and sister him, he let him off the hook.
David crossed his legs and glance at him. He was totally impressed by his courage, that he wants to strangle his neck out of breath.
He gave out a cold laugh at the bottom of his heart. "Hah. Do I look like I care?"
"David." Adam pronounce.
"Don't interfere Adam. And you. There won't be next time for you, young man. You already lost my trust a long time ago, so it's up to you to decide whether you want to die here or leave peacefully."
David found out that this man was secretly watching every transaction he made for the last two years and reported it to Anderson Corporation. He even tried to fraudulently copy the necklace design that he worked hard and almost spent five years to finished. At first. He turned a blind eye to it since his mother and his sister are all under the care of the Escliffe family. He gave him a chance to repent from his mistakes but still, he chose to betray him for money! David was totally disappointed with him.
"I-- I, I'll leave. I'll leave it! I don't wanna die. Please spare me."
He stood up and run for his life frantically like a scared rat and disappeared into the hallway.
Adam waved his hand in the air pointing out to leave them for a moment.
When they're finally alone, Adam started. "You don't need to be mean to him."
"I'm not mean to him, in fact. I'm still nice to him not killing him and staining my hands with his filthy blood. I don't need a damn traitor on my side. Adam. It's his choice to be greedy, betrayed me, and get caught in the process. You know how I hate being betrayed the most."
"That attitude of yours is a new definition of being nice, huh?"
David glared at him. "Anyways, you told me earlier that there are other women beside her, right?"
"Correct."
"Then where are they? You dare to gather all the women in the S city to be my wife, what do you think of my marriage, a f*****g business?"
"Yeah... Kind of."
"What did you say?" His two handsome eyebrows were knitted together tightly.
"Your marriage is entirely just a business contract. David, you don't need to deny it. A true marriage involves two lovers who'll be willing to spend their lives together until death do they apart. While yours..."
"What? What about mine?"
"While yours is only a temporary deal between two parties to make your grandfather believes that you truly love each other when the truth is inside, your only both strangers bind by a contract."
"You really had the nerve to say that to my face, huh?"
"Well, because I'm your best friend. David, If I wouldn't say it to you who else would do?"
"Stop bullshitting me, Adam. dismiss the other at once and chose that lady as my wife, as simple as that." His tone was an extraordinary firm, and there was no room for discussion at all.
" A lot of women in our country were desperate to be married off to you as soon as they heard the deal with your grandfather and you wish me to dismiss them all like that?"
"No it's not a wish, it's an order from me. Adam."
He sigh. "Well, if that what you order to happen..."
Adam slightly tip-toe to peeked at David's laptop, The figured lady earlier where nowhere to be seen in the surveillance video, only the silent hallway where Nichole passed by, a naughty smile crossed at his face.
David noticed that Adam still hasn't left yet.
"Anything else?" David slightly raised his brows, revealing his cold ruthless face.
His facial features were sexy and deep. Every line of his face was perfect as if it had been invented by God himself.
Adam stood up properly and put both of his hands in his sides pocket.
"Nothing, I just want to ask if you want to meet her with me." He said in a playful tone.
David fidgets at such a thought.
Having glanced at her was just a coincidence.
And her becoming his nominal wife seems not just an accident but a fate to teach this woman a lesson of messing with him.
Discussing the contract with her doesn't cross his mind. It's a good thing that Adam had the audacity to suggest such a great idea to him.
Without thinking twice, he instantly closed his laptop, picked up his phone, and walked toward the office door.
As he was about to attempt to grab the doorknob, he looked back to Adam who was watching him silently with a stunned expression. "What are you standing there for Adam? let's go."
Adam didn't think that he would easily agree with him. "....."
"Don't make a wry face like that. You looked like a duck." He said.
"Hey! I'm not."
"Yes, you are in my point of view."
"Ugh. I hate you, man."
"Don't worry I hate you more than you know. So stop chitchatting and move your ass over here."
His eyes turn bigger from what David said, as he sounds serious. "Wait I'm just kidding. What about your meeting?"
"Damn you. How dare you joke about a serious matter. Let's go." David repeats.
Adam immediately shooked his head, "No need. I'll go alone. Aren't you supposed to attend a meeting with the investor? They must be waiting for you." He implies.
David closed his eyes in annoyance and sigh. "A few minutes won't hurt. Adam. So don't make me repeat. Let's go. Before I get my gun and pointed it to your empty dumb brain."
Adam snickered. "Hah, like I'm afraid of that."
"Okay, I guess I will just deduct your one f*****g year's worth of salary."
"Tsk, your too short-tempered man... I'm going, I'm going okay!"
