CHAPTER 12: LET'S GET MARRIED

Chapter 12: Let's get Married TO SAY that Violet and Daniel's relationship was good is something even a blind person could see. However, when it comes to people playing as Snowflake and RRVACH, even blind person would find their eyes cured enough to see their animosity. It was so big that even that good relationship between the two wound up being flushed down a toilet as they fought for two hours after learning of each other's identity. Forget about just fighting for two hours, the entire room looked like King of Hell's torture chambers after they finally chose to take a break. No, rather than taking a break, it's more appropriate to say that they got tired. It's already considered quite a miracle that they fought for so long. In one corner of the room sat Daniel on the ground. His clothes were all messed up with some parts of pizza scattered all around it - not to mention that it had one sleeve ripped off. There were few bruises and scratches on his arms, but the most noticeable scar in this battle was a very prominent bite mark on his right eyebrow. That's right, a bite mark on his eyebrow! Don't even ask how it got there, even Violet was amazed with her masterpiece. Luckily, nothing got broken or else he'd have to rest for months and miss various competitions. Violet wasn't in that bad state, but she wasn't much better. Her clothes were still somewhat decent aside from being a bit messy, but the cheese from her hair and other suspicious pizza ingredients would be a bit bothersome to take out. She also had some bruises on her legs and arms, but luckily her face managed to get away with being unscratched. However, her sock wasn't that lucky as she had no idea to which corner it wound up being. Violet naturally had no disposition of fairer s*x, so she didn't find Daniel at fault at all for fighting back. What a joke, even back at home - heh, whichever boy dared to go against her? She was so violent in beating them that even after she fell sick or had to spend a week in bed after her fights, not a single soul dared to seek revenge from her. Forget about them seeking revenge, she would go on her own to fight with them after that even if it meant spending another week in bed! "I never would've thought that we would meet like this, Ascordia's boss," he suddenly sneered at her as she scoffed angrily back: "Why would you look at that, I always thought RRVACH was some conglomerate's fat son, yet you turned out to be nothing but a wolf in sheep's clothing. To think that I thought of you as some decent man, tsk!" She recalled how she thought that he's nice, but he turned out to be that wastrel of MARVEL's thug leader, she really found her views on world turn. Ah, it's no wonder she felt he was familiar! Those chills she got from time to time when she argued with him really weren't just her imagination. "Coincidentally, I always thought you were some grumpy old woman or mafia tomboy," he let out a sly smile, "Well, can't say I was that far about it." She immediately grit her teeth. Yes, she shouldn't be tricked with that pretty face of his, she won't forget the interaction for the past eight months she had with him in game. Thug, he was also a thug! "Humph, how many people would be amazed to know that their nice Daniel is vulgar as thug himself? Say, do they know that your mouth sprout more vulgar than actual decent words?" "Heh, would they believe the good looking me or rude NEET such as yourself? Even my grandfather seems better compared to your violent personality!" She suddenly wanted to jump on him and beat him up, but couldn't find the strength to do so. Unable to come to an agreement, the two continued the silent treatment for a while until Daniel finally gave up. Grabbing his phone, he chose one of conversations on w******p before his eye twitched. "Ah, whatever. You beat me up and I beat you up - this can be considered as paying off the debts we stacked to each other for the past eight months," he chose to offer them both path of retreat. If nothing was done about this situation, they'd most likely continue to fight for eternity! So he slid his phone to her and mentioned for her to take a look at it. She glared at him some more time before finally giving up as well. It's weird, perhaps because of their interaction from the past three days, their enmity wasn't as bad as one would imagine. It was just them venting out some anger they kept bottled inside for a while. Glancing at his phone she picked it up and contemplated about crushing it once again, but gave up in the end and saw what he wanted to show. Apparently, it was a screenshot of some conversation in game. Yes, it was the conversation from the world chat on the day she missed the guild was along with Daniel which led the third guild to win for the first time in a while. At first, she didn't pay it much attention, but the more she stared at it, the angrier she got. What the actual fudge?! That guy dared to challenge her?! You think winning one guild war is enough to mock me? Fudge, if she doesn't PK him some hundred times, she won't be able to sleep peacefully tonight. "What you say? Let's take a break and instead of fighting among ourselves, how about we go cause some trouble at that guys guild?" Daniel promptly asked and she didn't even think twice before agreeing. The human nature was odd, even if you had a sworn enemy you hated with all your soul, the moment you find someone more loathsome, you won't mind joining hands with the former one to destroy him. Daniel naturally knew that, which is why he chose to use the other guy as a scapegoat. He knew the person that sent him the screenshot from real life as he was surprisingly also a professional ice skater. It was also that person who introduced Daniel to this game, but he obviously didn't expect Daniel to grow to this degree. Violet slid back his phone across the floor and began to think - the person in real life and the thug from online world really were apart like heaven and earth. If she didn't spend the last three days with him, she really wouldn't believe it even if you told her so. But what Violet didn't know was that she had a huge part in Daniel's crooked personality. Truth to be told, back then when their guilds clashed, they weren't that serious. Daniel didn't curse much either, but under constant taunting of this disaster, his patience kind of... Evaporated into a thin air. Hate begets more hate and so they two became even more violent with their approach and words, so Daniel lost the last of his refined air he had while living in Russia. If Daniel's grandfather knew that he wasn't the sole reason for this personality that made his grandson evade him, it's really a question as to what would he do to Violet. Even killing her would be considered letting her off too lightly. "Let's PK. Let's PK him until he drops from top hundred rankings!" She gnashed her teeth as Daniel smirked. Daring to challenge him, the other was probably not taking him too serious and thought that he'd kill him until he lost a level or two, but heh - the other party never considered him working with Violet, no? Hell, even Daniel never considered working with her, but now... "I say, his guild has been staying as S ranked for quite a while, no?" When two vicious people fought, even their mothers won't necessarily understand them better than each other - one can only imagine disaster they could bring when teaming up. In the game, guilds had ranking gained during guild wars. Four S-ranked, four A-ranked, four B-ranked and rest are C ranks. Of four S-ranked, one will be a champion guild, it's usually the four that reached semi-finals. And naturally, the rank of the guild depended on level and strength of its members. "Humph, true, he was even ranked second on top rankings, if I'm not mistaken? Second ranked with an S guild, it would be too unfair if he were to drop in rankings alone," she gnashed her teeth. It was a miracle they didn't crack until now. He opened the game app, but found that the server's crashed once again. "How useless," seriously, can't even fix the bugs, what use was there in the game company? He shamelessly ignored the fact that he was responsible for most of the server crashes since the game began. "What happened?" She still didn't get her phone. Rising up to get to it, her hips suddenly ached and she cursed. Fudge, this violent— In the end she sighed. She asked for it. Honestly, she didn't really want to fight anymore. Daniel she knew off for the past 72 hours was too godly to throw away for her internet enemy. "Server crashed again, let's just go take a bath or something and eat. It shouldn't take them too long. And knowing the range of commotion we raised, there will be a lot people to log in after it's fixed, especially our target," yes, they'll all want to know if the two leaders died or not. "Humph, the lucky bastar- potato. Lucky potato!" Trying to avoid cursing, she decided to go to the nearby bathroom while he chose the one on upper floor. Although nothing got broken, there was another bite mark on his knee that stung a bit and he couldn't help but curse this violent tomboy. "Bite, bite - can you do something else but bite and beat people with violin," but he naturally waited until she was out of his sight to say that. What a joke, he finally came to ceasefire with her, he doesn't dare provoke her in biting him again. What if she bites his ear off or something? In the end, with too much bruises, bite marks and scratches, it took him almost an hour to take a bath and pain to go away. Even sitting was painful, was he kicked in his ass earlier? He wasn't sure, it was too messy to remember. He should be glad he had no bone broken, mentally noting to never challenge this girl for a brawl ever again. Violet wasn't that better. Even though Daniel was a bit gentler when dealing with her, the mess in her hair took too long to deal with. Some parts couldn't be salvaged, so she had no choice but to cut some parts. In the end, by the time she finished fixing it a bit to be presentable, her hair barely reached her shoulders. Staring at the mirror, she could only console herself by saying that it was about time to have a haircut. It really was too long! It took her half an hour longer than Daniel to be done, not counting on time she had to dry her hair afterwards. Daniel felt some regret seeing her hair, so he tried to console her. "Uh, it looks good on you," but who knew that it would only make her feel worse? "Whose fault was it that I had to cut it?!" "..." He tried, okay? Complimenting someone would end up in getting scolded, as expected with tomboys, one can only act like with a man. If Violet knew his thoughts, it wouldn't be a wonder if she killed him right there and then. "Whatever, come here," he patted the spot next to the sofa. He was too lazy to clean up and will either leave it for tomorrow or just call some cleaning service. In any case, the coach and TV were the only unscratched things left in this room. Ah, the lights too. "What do you want to do?" She eyed him suspiciously. He rolled his eyes and showed her a first aid box and she shivered. Surely he wasn't offering to take care of her wounds? He won't just put salt on them or something, right? "Come here, I already took care of mine," sure enough, when she took a better look at him, she saw that he had two plasters on his eyebrow and some on his hands. The bruises had already been soothed with some cream so they looked better than hers and she came next to him. Her bruises really were a bit painful when she touched them and although her blood clogged where she had some scratches, she didn't do much but wash them. In the end, Daniel didn't say anything as he begin to treat her injuries and she got bored not much longer. In the end she took her own phone and tried to see if the server was back to normal, but in the end she couldn't move further from her character screen and sighed. Ah, just as she needed to vent out some anger, the game died. Injustice, this is pure injustice from the world! "Doesn't look too serious, you don't need to go to hospital either," he did once again felt some regret. He fought with a girl and while he lived in Russia, his mother taught him to be gentler towards women, but this crazy red-hair was just... See, he even had no words to describe her. "Ah, it's fine - I never went to hospitals before except for when I still lived with my parents," she noticed that there was notification about this update so she curiously tapped on it. Although she never checked them before, she couldn't enter the game, so what's there to lose? "Before, huh... Sorry to be so blunt, but your parents, are they still..." He swallowed words he wanted to say. Say, he won't poke some old wound like this, will he? "Ah, no - they are still well and all. It's just that now that they have another daughter and son, they grew a bit distant from me. I don't really hear with them much," she shrugged his shoulders and he sucked on a cold air. f**k, isn't this digging one's own grave? "Sorry I asked. It's their loss," he said without pondering much on his words and she nodded. "Yeah, it is," she didn't pay much attention to it either. Seeing her talk about her own parents like some random passer-byes on the street, his heart ached. He said to himself, he should treat this girl better, and if someone wanted to hurt her, he should beat him few times. Realizing that, he began to treat her wounds even more carefully. Contrary to his worries, Violet didn't really feel upset or anything. When her parents left her to her grandmother to take care of her, they were already prepared for her to die in less than few years - as doctors told them, so with more and more time, they became distant. Although Violet was young, how could she not realize their treatment? Three years after she moved with her grandma, she got a little brother. By the fifth year, she got a little sister. With another healthy daughter, they naturally threw the healthy one into a corner of their minds. Violet didn't argue with her parents nor complain, she'd talk to them when they met - but it's morning more than few words of courtesy. Although they felt guilty a bit, she didn't really care. She just saw them as people who gave birth to her while her grandmother was her real family. Violet was perhaps something that saved her life, so she had no time to curry favor for her parents' attention. Her grandmother showed her more care than she needed and she didn't lack friends nor anything else as she grew up. Now that she was finally healthy, she had even less of an urge to go back to them. She would've been perfectly fine with loving the rest of her life with her grandmother, and this trip to the city was unexpected surprise for her. But she wasn't aware that the more she kept silent, the more regretful Daniel felt. He wanted to find her parents and have a word or two with them. When he goes to his grandparents, he should have a word or two with his grandfather as well. He already considered this NEET violinist living with him to be one of his people. "Holly fudge!" She suddenly screamed taking him off guard. "What? What's wrong? Did I press too hard and hurt you?" He asked while she glared angrily at her phone. "Scam, ah! This is a scam! Game is doing this intentionally to suppress us!" She cursed and he finally relaxed heading that it had something to do with game. Who know when she finally managed to log in, and seeing the 24h debuff immediately after reading that notification, she almost wanted to de-install the game. "It's fine, they've been doing it for a while and failed every time, so it's fine," true, their characters were too overpowered. Some games usually had their workers install it and snatch all best benefits so that the game doesn't lose too much to players, but those two unreasonable people left them far in dust before they could even do a single thing. "Look at this, this debuff is too timely! Did you see the earlier update? Too shameless!" What? "The new update gave extra bonus to married couple, the stats for wedding rings were increased, even giving random spells and cool-downs to wearers, too unjust towards the two of us!" People could get married in game, married couple could wear wedding rings, and training rings with various materials increased extra stats and buffs. And Violet and Daniel were both unmarried in game because of disadvantages because of each other, so they were on the losing side. It really did seem like a scam to Daniel too. "Fudge, this can't go on," ah, if only she married, but RRVACH and his guild... Ah, no! Wait, there's no more reason to fight with him anymore! They can be friends now? No, they ALREADY are friends. She suddenly felt her grudges for the past few months vanish in an instant. "Say, we won't fight anymore, will we?" She asked and he nodded, recalling her heart-rending story. "Won't." "Great!" On that case, she no longer had anything to worry about! She'll immediately get married. But with who? All stronger players she knew already had a partner, so she couldn't find anyone right now... Ah! She glanced at Daniel. Look for someone? Why would she look for someone? Doesn't she have a capable available person right here? He's also strong, won't be beaten easily, she won't have to guard him and worry about punishment debuffs for failing to save him. The more and more she looked at him, the more she liked what she saw. He shivered from the look she gave him and was just about to ask what she was thinking about when she spoke and almost gave him a heart attack. "Let's get married!"
