CHAPTER 20: DAWN, ARE YOU ALRIGHT?

Scarlett struggled with the heavy bedding. She dragged it to the bathroom and dipped it in a bath tub filled with water and detergent. The water changed its color to resemble that of blood.

"Young Miss, please come out and have your breakfast," a maid called out of the door. There came no response, and she continued to knock on her door and call her further to come out, but there was still no response.

"Do you think she might have hurt herself?"

"I don't know, but she has not yet even had her medicine."

"I think we should call Mr. Elmsworth to come and check on her. "

"But he left for work."

"But he clearly instructed us to call him immediately if anything were to happen to the Young Miss."

The maids discussed the matter amongst each other in search of a solution.

Moments later, Thane opened Scarlett's room with the Passkey. He rushed inside the spacious room. It was eerily quiet, he couldn't see Scarlett anywhere and the longer he continued to not see her, the more nervous he became.

The bed had no bedsheets laid on it. He figured maybe she had tied them up and used them as a rope to climb down through the window.

He ran to the side window to check, but he didn't see her there.

He had the shower run, so he went into the bathroom to check if she was there. Entering the bathroom, all the air left his lungs. The bathtub was filled with blood. He couldn't believe she had decided to end herself. He was horrified, and stood there in shock until someone's yelp pulled him out of his thought.

"Ahh." Scarlett yelped in pain when she knocked her toe on the scattered items on the floor and ended up under a shower with running water. Some of the items included newly bought soap bottles which were now empty or half way used. She looked lost, like she didn't know what she was doing.

"Dawn, are you alright?" Thane asked while he ran to her side and hugged her tight.

She tried to break free, but he hugged her more tightly. He couldn't let go. Earlier, he thought he had lost her, but she was there in flesh and bone.

He wanted to hold on to her for a longer time. He was panting from the scare she had given him and also from running a flight of stairs to come see her.

With all her might, Scarlett finally managed to push Thane from her." Don't come near me, I am filthy."

Thane was heartbroken that she had pushed him away, but her statement cooled him a bit.

"Get out, I'll come join you later." She tried to coax him.

Thane walked to the door and closed it shut. He knew how Scarlett hated the sight of blood and, most importantly, other people seeing her blood. She had become so paranoid about it that she always washed her blood herself.

"Let me help then," he said casually.

"Please leave, it's embarrassing." Scarlett was shy about the whole situation.

"Don't overthink it. Besides, we used to be so familiar with each other, at one point, I had to buy you a sanitary towel when you forgot to pack one, remember?" Thane said lightly, and there was nothing as sarcasm to it.

"Easy for you to say, you don't have a uterus bossing you around,"Scarlett said while she picked up the sheets and started handwashing them.

True, he didn't have a uterus to boss him around, but that didn't mean, no other body part was. Scarlett wore a silk night gown and nothing inside. The water from the running shower had not yet dried off her. Her hair was wet, and it fell softly on her face. The night gown stuck to her body, perfectly exposing her alluring figure. Her n*****s were as clear as day as they were visible through the filmsy clothing. The straps had long fallen off her shoulders, leaving her skin bare. Her pale pearly skin around the clavicle was tempting to bite.

And his gum itched to do so.

He wanted to tear down that silk dress and f**k her for dear life and see how those round peaches on her chest would feel under his touch. His c**k was enormous now, and he just wished Scarlett hadn't seen it.

'Get it together man, she has just lost her father and her uterus is already giving her a headache' he had to tell himself all that to keep his mind straight.

Thane immediately took the other side and helped her.
