I had to take a moment of silence to fully grasp what he had said. Did he say he was going to take me home? Under whose authority? Obviously not mine. As much as I wanted to ride in his Harley—of course I want to. I always dreamed of riding one.
Yet, there was one thing that’s stopping me and it was my suspicions. From what I observe, Lucas seems to be a good man but why is he going on such lengths for me? It’s one thing to show gratitude towards someone who owed your life to. However, there’s this unsettling thought inside of me who cannot see the good in him.
