My glare could put holes through Norman’s head. He sits across from me at the table, both of us occupying the seats right beside Grandpa. The old man insisted on inviting Norman for dinner and even if it was a bit embarrassing to have him over, I had no choice since this was all Grandpa’s doing. He flashes an apologetic smile but I ignore it, keeping the menace of my stare intact. “I didn’t want this to happen, okay?” He whispered across the table, while Grandpa was busy cooking dinner for us. It’s nothing fancy, just some chicken curry with rice. I don’t know why but having him here felt…weird. Maybe I’m being unreasonable because I know Norman’s a nice person but something was unsettling about this whole setup. My head is telling me he shouldn’t be here. But for what reason exactly?
