I turned to my left and continued around to the back porch. The back door didn’t seem to budge either. I felt completely alone and cut off from my only friend in this place. I willed to not allow these thoughts to affect me. I simply continued on the other side of the home and peered through the sitting room window. I could see that Percy and I were still there. I was struck by this immediately and completely confused. It was as if I had been dreaming the whole time about the events of earlier.
