5. A Frightful Night-4

I had only a moment to think about this before I heard a loud creaking just behind me. I turned my head and held out the candle in the opposite direction. I peered deeply toward the guest room door that was now swinging open and smacked against the wall. I tried to look into the room but could not see anything. I could not even see the window that I had observed when I had investigated this room earlier. I ultimately began to creep toward the door. I felt the bold fear hanging in the air around me. My stomach now felt upset by this strong fear. I crept ever closer to the door and peered around the corner and into the room. There was no furniture in the room, and the darkness seemed at its thickest in the far corner. I began to see a shifting within the corner that seemed to be the darkness
