14 RETURNING HOME The day broke through the small window in the room and illuminated the whole bed. I had awakened before Mary this morning and was content to lie next to her and watch her sleep. I felt comfort as I had never felt before in the manor. My whole world had went back to normal now, and I finally understood what it would have been like if I had been able to rest on this vacation. I had imagined this moment for a long time. Now it felt as if I had waited for an eternity to feel this relaxed within the manor. What I once had thought would be an easy and relaxing trip had turned to a nightmare, but had now redeemed itself. I could not be happier with my new wife in a house that finally held silence. I no longer felt that I had to worry that this demon was defeated. I felt peace
