Eli shook his head, but he didn’t seem concerned.
“Baka’s losses were heavy… my concern is that there may be truth to the rumours about him kidnapping travelling humans and turning them into bears.”
Mama hissed disapprovingly.
“In that case, if there is another battle, you will need my blade,” Uncle Felan chimed in.
We all laughed. He was still very sore about not going to battle with us, instead ruling Zamee in Eli’s stead.
“Look, sister, you may be taller than me, you may even be a more skilful fighter – but what I lack in height, I make up for in gusto,” he said, grinning widely.
