We all were. Conin had requested to speak with Eli. He had then made the shocking announcement that he could no longer serve as Gamma.
“I cannot explain it, sire. I… I just know that I am no longer your Gamma. It has been an honour serving you, but I cannot say I’m disappointed. If you’ll still allow it, I would prefer to stay commander of your army.”
“Of course, Conin, this goes without saying,” Eli said, nodding.
Alaric looked at me and I shrugged. We had just been speaking with Eli regarding the arrival of the lions in a week, and Conin had come in with his revelation. He bowed deeply.
“Thank you, King Eli. Orsa, will you join me in the barracks this afternoon, there is a tactic I wish to run by you,” he said, turning to her.
