King Leonidas listened carefully as Lucien and Kai explained the extent of the situation to him.
“And after Leela and Orsa escaped, war was declared,” Kai finished.
“So now you are mated before your goddess?” Prince Atari asked.
The disappointment in his voice was clear.
“We are mates. But… I have not yet marked her. So… we aren’t precisely mated before High Goddess,” Kai said, hesitantly.
