Wednesday afternoon was humid, the kind of heat that made clothes stick to skin. Louise parked her car down the street from the Salinger residence. She checked her watch. 2:55 PM. Ella Salinger was currently at the Country Club, screeching at her bridge partner for overbidding a hand. She wouldn't be back for at least two hours.
