Andy’s jaw tightened. "She cost us seven years." "She thinks she’s balancing the scales," Louise said. "She thinks that because my mother stole her father, she is entitled to steal my husband. It’s a twisted, generational debt she thinks she’s collecting." "She’s psychotic," Andy stated flatly. "She’s hurt," Louise corrected gently, though her eyes remained hard. "I understand her pain, Andy. I really do. Losing a parent is agony. Watching your surviving parent replace you is worse." She turned on the stool to face him fully.
