Foden stood in front of Laura’s house, nerves tightening his stomach in knots. He hadn’t been here in what felt like a lifetime, though in reality it had only been a few months since the last time he’d seen Laura.
So much had changed since then. She had been through hell—first with the betrayal and the attack, and then with the aftermath, where she had distanced herself from him because she forgot him.
He took a deep breath and climbed the steps, his hands shaking slightly as he reached for the buzzer.
