Silence falls after Hera has spoken.
Rhodes doesn’t say a word and Hera staggers back, bloodied fingers twitching before her sickly yellow eyes travel back to mine. My knees are trembling. I’m out of breath. If she wanted to, she could end me without a second thought. My only means of defense is Rhodes and I’m not too sure if he is on my side.
The curse is broken for him too.
He is no longer weak, but quite possibly the strongest Lycan alive and when he realizes he doesn’t need me, he might leave.
I think that’s why Hera is grinning now, looking between us before she starts laughing like a maniac.
“You’re him!” She exclaims, lips peeling back to reveal her vampire teeth. “The Lycan King that never was. Born the strongest, but cursed to never use his powers!”
