Scarlett “It’s nice of you to take me out walking before your maid shift,” Violet says, all sweet and innocent like she doesn’t know I’m about to be sentenced to domestic hell after I’m done hanging out with her. I smirk, even as I shoot a wary glance toward the treeline. “Figured I’d steal ten minutes of peace before I’m back to scrubbing royal testosterone stains out of Rhodes’ silk sheets.” She laughs, the sound of her being happy already making our time together worth it.
