Violet stumbles forward. Barefoot. Arms slack at her sides. Her head c****d in a way that isn’t natural. Her eyes are wide. Vacant. Glassy. Complete ice.
Behind her, there’s another vampire. An ugly one with eyes like burned coal. He grips her shoulders from behind. Those long fingers digging into her collarbone, holding her upright like a doll. Blood runs from a bite on her neck. He twists her arm sharply.
I’m so shocked that I can’t move. I’m staring at the scene, frozen when Hera moves forward.
“Such a pretty half-silver wolf,” she murmurs. “Be still, little star. I’m coming to feed on your blood.”
