Alice's Point Of View
The shock of what had just happened kept me still; I didn't move or try to salvage the situation.
Meanwhile, Reynolds' eyes scanned my body greedily, his eyes darkening with desire.
“Let me go,” I said anxiously, running towards my closet without even bothering to pick up my towel.
“What just happened?” I muttered silently, my breathing still laboured.
The entire thing flashed before my eyes again, covering me in goosebumps.
Pushing those thoughts to the side, I hurriedly got dressed and walked out of my closet.
Reynolds was still there, lying on the bed with his eyes shut.
He looked so peaceful and very handsome, but I didn't let that distract me.
“Why are you still here?” I asked calmly, clearing my throat.
My room was the one place I found peace. I didn't want him to come and disrupt that.
“I told you, I'm moving in,” He said firmly, his eyes still closed.
“Aren't you afraid of getting caught?” I asked anxiously, biting my bottom lip because I already knew the answer.
Reynolds had never cared about what people thought about him.
“No,” he said flatly, his eyes slowly opening.
“I care more about you paying your debt,” he said firmly, standing to his feet and approaching me slowly.
“Thank you for saving my life, but as I have said before, I am not interested in whatever this is anymore,” I said boldly, looking into his eyes.
It was about time I stood up to him just as I had done in high school.
He didn't respond to me but kept approaching me.
I didn't move back this time; I stood my ground, but my knees were weak.
“I…I can give you money, n...name your price,” I stammered, my voice now filled with uncertainty.
I wanted to back out, but I knew that if I did, he wouldn't stop.
“Ten more times,” he said in a low tone, a look flashing in his eyes.
He halted just in front of me and stared down at me.
“I…I don't understand,” I whispered, my voice breaking as I spoke.
“Ten times Alice… let me have you ten more times,” he said in a low tone, his eyes locked with mine.
I didn't respond; I didn't know what to say.
I hadn't fully wrapped my head around what he was saying.
“Promise me,” he pressed, his hand caressing my face.
I blinked confusedly, trying to read his gaze.
Suddenly, he took my lips in a sweet kiss, his lips covering mine with an urgency I have never seen.
Soon I was kissing him back with the same intensity, my hand in his hair.
He picked me up with one arm, and my legs wrapped around his waist as we approached the bed.
“Promise me,” he whispered softly, kissing the nape of my neck.
I didn't respond and began to take off his shirt.
The feel of his hard body against mine was all it took to make me lose my mind.
I couldn't wait, I tore off my clothes too, desperately to feel his skin against mine.
“You are so beautiful,” he whispered softly, his eyes filled with admiration as he looked at me.
Soon, the rest of my clothes were gone, and I lay bare on the bed.
“Promise me,” he pleaded one more time, as he hurriedly removed his trousers.
I didn't respond once again and just dragged him down to the bed.
He took my lips once again, his hand roaming my body freely.
He curbed one of my breasts and put it in his mouth, pleasuring me with his tongue.
He gave the other one the same attention, making my legs shake with pleasure.
“Take me,” I screamed urgently, opening fully to him.
But just before he entered me, he looked me in the eyes.
“Promise me, princess,” he pleaded urgently, his voice hoarse with pleasure.
“I promise you,” I said mindlessly, desperate to have him inside me.
The words had barely left my lips when he thrust in fully, entering me with so much force that a tear slipped from my eyes.
“Are you okay? Was I too rough?” He asked urgently, his eyes filled with worry.
“I am fine, don't stop,” I managed to say, putting my arms around his neck and dragging him in for a kiss.
Our lovemaking was passionate and beautiful; it felt like something finally clicked.
I fell asleep in his arms, a strange peace and certainty filling my heart.
The sun streamed into my room, landing on my face and waking me from a deep sleep.
I touched the bed expecting to feel Reynolds by my side, but it was empty.
“He left,” I whispered softly, as my eyes popped open.
I scanned around for any signs of him, but found none. I frowned.
But just as I stood up, I saw a cup of tea with a small note by the side.
“Drink it while it's hot, see you tonight,” it read.
I looked at the hot cup of tea and smiled, kissing the note and sitting down to drink the tea.
I showered and got dressed quickly, preparing to return to the library to try my luck once again.
“I know I will get a job today,” I said with a strange certainty, folding the note neatly and putting it in my pocket.
I was very happy, and Mrs Charles must have noticed it because her smile widened as she gave me a light pat and wished me good luck for the day.
“Any luck?” Mrs Charles asked softly, as she sat by my side.
It had become our little tradition for her to check on me after work and have dinner together before I went back home.
“None yet,” I said defeatedly, my voice breaking.
“I didn't think it would be this hard,” I admitted quietly, taking a deep breath.
“It just made me realize I need to go to college, but I still need to save money to do that,” I whispered, my eyes becoming teary.
“What if I have a job for you?” she asked calmly, her eyes locked with mine.
