The next morning, Natasha dressed up early to make way to Kensington Holdings, as she needed to get the money as soon as possible to pay for her mother's surgery. She was able to make a little deposit at the hospital last night to get them to give her medications to suppress the seizure and promised to get the money today. Ever since her mother was diagnosed with a stone in her kidney, Natasha's life turned upside down. Her father died a month after his company crumbled, Natasha spent most of her father's money inventing on her finance Mevrick. She never had any savings. Her mother had been the one shouldering the responsibilities for both of them. She entered the vast office building and was immediately directed to Aiden's office by his secretary. Natasha made it to his office, and met the man well suited, attending to some documents on his desk. "Welcome, Ms...", He hesitated "Natasha... Natasha Kings", she interfered. "Have a seat, I'll join you shortly", Aiden retorted, showing her to the well furnished sofa. Natasha had no time to waste as she kept checking the clock, and shaking her legs. Aiden noticed her body language and responded, "got somewhere to go Ms. Kings?". "No..no", she replied in shock. Aiden moved closer to her and sat on one of the sofas beside her, placing a piece of document on the table signaling her to go through it to gain a better understanding of the offer… Natasha stared at him with surprise…. Yes it's a contract marriage, one we will both benefit from", Mr Aiden responded, his confidence needed to be studied as every word swinging from his lips produced a sense of arrogance and a touch of sophistication. "Wait, you 're not joking? How can you just walk up to a stranger and propose marriage?", Natasha said in disbelief. The man's scoffed in return as he took a sip from his cup of coffee "First off, you're no longer a stranger and so you know, this is not a lovey dovey kind of marriage, this is a contract marriage, remember you owe me, I'm even going to pay you more… is business. Marry me, give me a son, and I'll give you anything you desire, including financial stability," he offered As his words hung in the air, Natasha burst into laughter, finding his proposition utterly ridiculous. "Marry you? That has to be the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard," Natasha scoffed, unable to believe his audacity. Despite her financial problems, she remained adamant on accepting his proposal even if she wanted to, she knew she couldn't bear a child. Natasha smirked and asked "So this is the offer!? Huh… Marrying you was the offer?... to think I thought it was a job offer or something" "Do you know me? have you been following me?. Why would you just propose marriage to someone you just met yesterday ?Why would an influential man like you even come to a local street looking for a wife?" Natasha continued asking questions in such disbelief…. "Yes I went to a local street , because I know the local street would be full of desperate people in need of money, and I desperately need a lady to bear a son for me, desperate times call for desperate measures, you know" Aiden responded, swigging his chair… "So you think I'm desperate?" She asked He smirked once again and responded "Well you wouldn't be here if you weren't desperate" She was so confused whether to sign the paper or not, knowing she needs the money for her mother's transplant and the fact that he was so rude got her more confused.. " He was so calm and nice yesterday, why was he suddenly so rude or was he pretending yesterday? " she asked herself "Wait… do you think I will give out my 10 million dollars without demanding something? Nothing goes for nothing you know" he interrupted her thought "But I didn't ask for your help, I was already sorting it out myself!!" she retorted… " Well I helped you already, pay me back my money or give me a son, I'm doing you a favor you know, I just said I'm still going to give you more money and you're still being reluctant about it… wowww!!" He responded " or don't you want money?" He asked, looking at her to get a response Natasha was ready to accept the offer, she was very desperate, but she knows deep down she can't give him what he wants, she knows accepting the offer would be deceiving him cause she obviously cannot give him a child. She decided to leave his office and look for the money elsewhere… She was about to leave the office when her phone rang again. This time it was Mrs Gabrielle, who has sworn to render them homeless if she doesn't pay the money she borrowed from her to buy drugs for her mom. She returned to her seat, grabbed the document, Natasha quickly scanned through it again. The agreement was direct and to the point, evidently a marriage of convenience. After several minutes, she requested a pen. "Wait a moment, to Miss Kings," Aiden interjected. "Are you satisfied with the terms? Have you thoroughly assessed the clauses?" "Yes, I am to receive the remaining payment upon bearing an heir, and I must remain with the child for two years after the contract concludes," Natasha replied, swiftly scanning through the document once more. Aiden smirked, passing her the pen. In a matter of seconds, Natasha signed the document and returned it to Aiden, who perused it and nodded in approval. "Very well then, meet with my secretary and provide your account details. The funds will be immediately wired to you," Aiden instructed, taking the document from the table and returning to his seat. As Natasha made her way out of Aiden's office, he halted her in her tracks. "Oh, and one more thing. You are to move into my home within the next two days. after all we are married now," Aiden stated without glancing at her. In a fit of frustration, Natasha flung open his door and stormed towards the secretary's office. As she walked out of the secretary's office after the money had been wired to her, she locked eyes with a familiar figure walking towards her in the hallway. Her heart skipped to see whom it was…. Mervick walked through the hallway of Kensington building on the phone with Ophelia "She'll definitely come back to me, I mean who else would marry her?", Mervick laughed as he responded. Yea, I was even going to marry her out of pity, when she's done being in her feelings she'll come back", he continued. His eyes widened when he looked forward and saw Natasha walking towards him, he halted in surprise. "What could she be doing here? What business does she have here" Mervick thought to himself as he continued walking, then he quickly hung up the call. As they got close to each other, he was met with a stern look, he looked below and saw her clenched fist as if it was ready to punch him at any minute. Natasha! What are you doing here? don't tell me you're here to apply for a job as a cleaner", Mervick asked in a manner that seemed as if they were on good terms. "Don't you dare call my name with those lips full of deceit", Natasha responded in a harsh tone. "Look, I know you are still angry about what you saw yesterday, but let's put the past behind us and move forward, she means nothing to me", Mervick said to her, moving forward to hold her hands. Immediately he held her hands, she pulled his hands away in anger as if his touch irritated her bones. "Don't you dare! You scumbag! Of all the people ,you chose my friend, and you dare lie to me", Natasha responded in a cold tone. "C'mon Tasha! You can't call off the engagement, I mean who else would want to marry you?", Mervick answered. The statement hung in the air and produced a wave of anger and disbelief. "What? You are a f*****g bastard and you will rot in hell for all that you've done to me, who is going to get married to me? You'll see" Natasha replied in fury. She took off the engagement and threw it at him and made her way out because if she stayed any more minute she would smash his head Mervick looked at the ring she threw on the ground and smirked "Just wait and see, I'll make your life hell", Mervick mumbled. He picked up the ring and headed to his uncle's office.
