Hang out

Ashley's POV:

As the days went by, I thought Henry and I would finally be on the same page. But I was wrong. It seemed like Henry was intentionally making my life more difficult. It started with little things: he'd leave his socks on the floor for me to clean, or blast his music at 6 am. I tried to ignore it, but it was hard when it seemed like he was doing it on purpose.

There wasn't a day when Henry didn't get on my nerves. It was like every day was a new challenge in our little "paradise." I walked into my dorm, exhausted from leading the music club. Henry and his friends, Matthew and Ryan, were lounging on the couch, playing video games.

"Hey Henry, what's with the entourage?" I asked, trying to keep my cool.

Henry greeted me with a distracted "Hey roomie," his eyes still fixed on the screen. I rolled my eyes. "I asked a question," I said, trying to keep my patience.

Matthew and Ryan looked up, grinning. "Hey Ashley!" Matthew said, waving. Ryan chimed in, "Yeah, we're just hanging out, playing some video games. You're not blind, are you?"

I raised an eyebrow. "In my room." Henry shrugged. "You're not using it, so we decided to make ourselves at home."

I sighed, flopping down into the bed. "You're impossible, Henry." Henry grinned. "That's what makes me lovable."

I shot back, "No one loves you, Henry. They're all just scared of you." And I covered my mouth quickly but to my surprise,Henry laughed. "I'm talking about you, sick girl, not others."

Matthew and Ryan chuckled, and I threw a pillow at them. "Shut up, you two. You're enabling him." Ryan held up his hands. "Hey, we're just innocent bystanders."

Matthew added, "Yeah, we're just here for the free food and Wi-Fi." I laughed despite myself. "You all are ridiculous."

Henry chimed in, "That's what makes life interesting, right?" I smiled. "You're ridiculous, Henry."

As they hung out, while I was on my bed i couldn't help but noticed that way henry interacted with his friends. They were all so easy going and relaxed with each other, and Henry seems to be the glue that held them together.

As the evening wore on, I found myself laughing and joking with them. Maybe, just maybe, living with Henry wouldn't be so bad after all.

But just as I was starting to think that, Henry's phone rang. He answered it, listening for a moment before his expression turned serious.

"What's up?" Matthew asked, noticing the change in Henry's demeanor. Henry hesitated, looking at me before answering, "It's Principal Johnson. He wants me in his office."

Ryan asked, "What does he want again? What did you do this time, Henry?" Henry shrugged. "I have no idea, but I'm sure it'll be fun."

Matthew said, "You know that man is always full of trouble." Henry smirked. "I'm trouble myself. That man thinks we're fools."

Their conversation was weird, and I couldn't understand what they were talking about. Matthew said, "We'll wait outside. Johnson can get tense when we're with you."

Johnson ? Did they just call him by his real name? Are they kind of related or what ?.

This was what was going through my mind.

“ he's right dude let's go I will also text Lily” Ryan said.

Who was Lily ? Maybe is Henry girlfriend I thought.

“ Henry you ain't saying anything? We need to know if Samantha will be coming anytime soon so let's go with you “ Ryan spoke

Henry nodded. "Fine, let's go." They all stood up, facing me. Henry gave me a little smile, and they left.

I felt a pang of concern. What had Henry gotten himself into?.

Time flies…

Sarah and Emily peeped through the door, scanning everywhere.

“ he's not here, come in” I said and chuckled

“ don't blame us ..“ Sarah said pouting. And I allowed them in.

“ what'd going between you and Henry ?“ Emily asked in a serious tone I have never experienced before.

“ he's just been his usual annoying self, but I hope we blend soon “ I said

Sarah giggled” I think it's kinda cute though “ she said and I laughed

“ don't be ridiculous…he's a nightmare “ I said

“ whatever you are doing, just be careful with him. Ignore him as far as possible, his life is complicated and it's not just only a bad annoying jerk boy we know him in this school, just be careful okay * Emily said still serious.

“ yes mom “ I said and they all laughed.

Emily checked her phone and stood up “ tomorrow guys, I really need to see someone” Emily said and pecked us and she left.

“ classic Emily “ I said.

“ more like she's been going out a lot lately, skipping class aren't you worried for her” sarah asked and I felt a sting of guilt. She was right.

“ let's just leave Emily, sometimes is better we let her be, till she chooses to explain. You know how Emily is when you poke into her business so pls let's just leave her “ I said

“ okay if you say so babee. Now, tell me how is it like here ? “

I laughed” not bad, Henry still annoying, Matthew still act gay , Ryan he's just himself “

“ hey c'mon Matthew isn't gay “ she defended

“ are you defending him right now ?“ I asked giving him an eye brow

“Nah-uh, just that I like the way he smiles, and walk and talk” she said with a dreamy look

“ Do you crush on gay Matthew ? “ I asked

“ he's not gay Ashley, he's just caring “ she said

“ tell that to Henry “ I said and she throw me pillow.

“ Enough already” I said

* fine!“ She answered raising her hand in surrender.

I laughed, as she joined me too.
