As Kara came up to him, he was distracted by the path ahead. They would come upon a hill of rocks in a few hundred feet, and he wondered if they should push forward to go over or have to detour to go around it. As Kara pulled ahead of him, he didn’t pay too much attention. He figured she was just stretching her legs and getting out some of her frustration. Suddenly his instincts clamored. There was danger. His senses had picked it up even though he couldn’t fully translate it yet. He looked around, his heart pounding as he tried to figure out where the danger was coming from.
