Noah’s reaction left Bella speechless.
She couldn’t bring herself to say anything.
She simply stood there in silence, watching as Noah walked out of the room and headed toward the garden.
For some reason, Bella wanted to follow him.
She didn’t even know why.
Maybe she was simply curious.
Or maybe she just wanted to be near him for a few more minutes.
Whatever the reason was, she found herself turning toward Ammy.
“Ammy, you look busy. I’ll go get Noah’s sss from him so he can send the pictures. I’ll send them afterward.”
Ammy took her words lightly.
She glanced around the room. No one seemed suspicious, and Maria was completely relaxed as well.
So, without giving it much thought, Ammy nodded.
Bella quickly left the room.
The moment she stepped through the garden door, she spotted Noah.
He was standing near the same tree—the same tree under which Bella and Noah had done their photoshoot—his back facing her, both hands tucked casually into his pockets.
Bella slowed down.
A strange nervousness settled in her chest.
She almost stopped.
But she didn’t.
She kept walking toward him.
When she was close enough, she hesitated for a moment before finally speaking.
“Noah…?”
Noah slowly turned his head.
His eyes landed on her.
“Bells?”
His brows lifted slightly.
“What are you doing here?”
Bella fidgeted with her fingers.
“Actually… I came to get the pictures.”
She paused before adding,
“I want to upload them on social media, so…”
Even as she said it, Bella knew it was only an excuse.
She didn’t really need to come all the way here for the pictures.
She just wanted an excuse to be around him.
Noah stared at her for a moment before a faint smile appeared on his lips.
“You seem to be in quite a hurry.”
Bella said nothing.
She simply looked at him.
Noah held out his hand.
“Give me your phone.”
Bella blinked.
“Huh?”
“Your phone.”
There was something so calm and certain in his voice that Bella didn’t question him again.
She slowly handed her phone over.
Noah took it and began tapping on the screen.
Bella watched his fingers move, trying to figure out what he was doing.
But she couldn’t make out anything.
For some reason, she didn’t ask.
She simply stood there, staring at him.
Noah seemed completely focused on the screen.
A few moments later, he finally looked up.
“I’ve sent all the pictures to your phone.”
He handed it back to her.
Before Bella could say anything, Noah walked past her.
Bella turned slightly, watching him leave.
Then she looked down at her phone.
She immediately opened her gallery.
Her eyes moved across the screen.
There were pictures of her.
Pictures of Ammy.
But…
Their pictures were missing.
The pictures of her and Noah—the ones they had taken together under that same tree—weren’t there.
Bella stared at the screen for a few seconds, convinced she had somehow missed them.
But no.
They were nowhere to be found.
For some reason, the realization bothered her more than it should have.
She quickly turned her head.
“But you didn’t send our pictures.”
Noah stopped walking.
For a moment, he didn’t move.
Then he slowly turned around and looked at her.
He walked back toward her.
His expression was calm, almost unreadable.
When he finally stopped in front of her, his eyes remained fixed on hers.
“What are you going to do with those pictures, Bells?”
Bella opened her mouth.
Nothing came out.
She didn’t know what to say.
Noah watched her silence for a moment.
There was something unreadable in his eyes—a look Bella couldn’t quite understand.
Then, in a quiet voice, he said,
“Learn to be patient, Bells.”
He paused.
“There’s still more struggle ahead.”
Before Bella could ask what he meant, Noah turned around and walked away.
He didn’t give her a chance to say another word.
Bella stood there, watching his figure disappear.
She didn’t understand what he meant.
What struggle?
Why was he talking as if he already knew something she didn’t?
After a few moments, Bella slowly walked over to a branch near the garden and sat down.
She took out her phone, intending to call her father.
But just as she was about to dial the number, something caught her attention.
A newly saved contact.
Bella frowned.
She looked at the name.
NOAH
Her eyes widened.
For several seconds, she simply stared at the screen.
When had she saved his number?
She hadn’t.
At least, she was sure she hadn’t.
Her curiosity immediately took over.
She opened her social media accounts.
Her eyes widened even further.
Noah had added her.
On every account she checked.
Bella stared at the screen in disbelief.
“How…?”
Before she could finish the thought, her phone vibrated.
A new message.
From Noah.
Bella’s heart skipped a beat.
She opened it.
I know you’re happy, Bells.
She stared at the message.
Then another message appeared.
Did you really think I wouldn’t notice?
