“Please.” My pockets were still empty from when I’d changed earlier so I headed upstairs and went through the stuff that I’d emptied out. A little pocket knife, my phone, keys, the plastic shopping bag I’d used to carry the dummy Necronomicon ... I grabbed the bag and took it back downstairs. “This is all he handed me,” I said. I unfolded it, and sure enough something fluttered to the floor: a slip of paper, probably a receipt from the original purchase.
