Rebecca gracefully accepted the gesture, gently helping Simon up from the floor with a slight force of her right hand.
Simon respectfully stood to the side, hands lowered.
Looking at him intently, Rebecca asked solemnly, "Simon, I need to know, no matter what happens, will you always stand by my side?"
Simon didn't understand why she was asking, but he answered without hesitation, "Of course, I've sworn my loyalty to you, my lady."
"Even if it means going against the Rodriguez family?"
Simon raised his right hand, his expression turning solemn. "I swear on my honor."
"I trust you."
Simon had done the same in her previous life, which was why she had come back for him.
There weren't many people she could trust, but Simon was one of them.
"I need an invitation to tomorrow night's ball. Can you get one for me?"
Simon pondered for a moment. "The Garcia family received several invitations. Why don't you just ask Mr. and Mrs. Garcia for one?"
Rebecca smiled faintly. "I don't want them to worry."
'If I don't have an invitation to a ball hosted by the Rodriguez family, my dad's temper will flare up. He might storm into Rodriguez Manor to confront Adrian. That's the last thing I want to see.'
"Find a way to get me an invitation, and don't let anyone know."
Rebecca gave the order.
Simon agreed and left to find a solution.
With time to spare while waiting for news, Rebecca decided to give Jenny a call.
"Hey, want to hang out?"
In her previous life, Jenny had died in a car accident on her way to visit her.
The car had been completely consumed by flames, leaving no trace of Jenny's body. She was burned beyond recognition.
'God knows how much I missed Jenny.'
There was a brief silence over the phone before Jenny's uncertain voice came through.
"Aren't you worried Adrian will get mad?"
Jenny didn't come from a prestigious background, and in high society, where lineage was everything, she was never warmly received.
To marry Adrian, Rebecca had broken ties with her best friend and instead befriended those ladies from noble families.
Those women had been cordial, but behind her back, they had been secretly envied and resented her.
After she had been kicked out of Rodriguez Manor, they had all turned on her, except for Jenny, who had stood by her side through it all.
Now she finally knew who her true friend was, the one worth her genuine care.
"Why care about him? So, are you up for it or not?"
Jenny's excitement was evident. "Of course! How about meeting at our usual place at six tonight?"
As the time approached, Rebecca drove to the Nightfall Bar.
Jenny was already there, and as soon as Rebecca saw her, she hugged her tightly, pulling her close to look her over from head to toe.
Jenny was taken aback by her actions, her cheeks flushing slightly.
Although they were close friends, proud as she was, Rebecca had never displayed such closeness before.
Rebecca grabbed Jenny's hand and led her inside. "Come on. Let's grab some drinks! We're not leaving until we're wasted tonight!"
The arrival of the two beauties immediately drew the attention of everyone in the bar.
Rebecca, whose red high-slit dress perfectly accentuated her stunning figure, and combined with her stunning face, many men couldn't take their eyes off her.
A tipsy man staggered over, trying to hit on her.
The commotion caught Adrian's attention.
He gracefully took a sip of his drink, casting a casual glance in that direction, not intending to intervene.
However, he froze upon recognizing the woman at the center of the crowd.
His friend Lucas, seated beside him, exaggeratedly exclaimed, "Adrian, doesn't that woman in the red dress look a bit like your wife?"
Adrian stared at the seductive woman, his gaze darkening before he looked away indifferently. "No, you must be mistaken."
"Really?"
Lucas scratched his head, confused. "I mean, the style doesn't quite match Rebecca's usual look, and she seems even more stunning. Maybe I did get it wrong."
Adrian took another sip of his drink without saying anything, but his eyes remained fixed on Rebecca.
At that moment, the drunk man had moved closer to Rebecca, reaching out to wrap his arm around her waist.
"Hey, gorgeous, care to join me for a drink?"
Rebecca deftly sidestepped, a cold glint in her beautiful eyes.
"Watch it. This is a public place. Keep your hands to yourself."
The drunk man, reeking of alcohol, wasn't deterred by her words and continued trying to touch her.
"Aw, relax, sweetheart. We're just having some fun."
Rebecca's brow furrowed, and she delivered a hard slap across the man's face.
The crisp sound momentarily sobered the drunken man.
But instead of backing off, he only seemed angrier.
"You b***h," he muttered, "I'll make you regret that!"
With that, he grabbed Rebecca's arm and started dragging her toward the door.
Jenny, panicking, stepped in front of Rebecca, shouting, "Where's security? We need help!"
Rebecca calmly surveyed the surroundings. The security guards were still some distance away.
Her arm was throbbing from the man's tight grip, and she couldn't break free as he pulled her toward the exit.
Rebecca discreetly picked up a bottle from the table as they neared the door. The man, too absorbed in his ranting, didn't notice her subtle move.
He dragged her into a dimly lit alley beside the bar.
Jenny had been trying to pry his hand off Rebecca, but annoyed by her interference, the man swung his arm, throwing Jenny to the ground.
Her body slammed hard against a roadside stone, hit her head on the pavement, and immediately passed out.
Rebecca quickly glanced around the area and realized they were in a blind spot, out of view of the security cameras.
As the drunk man pinned her down and started undoing her clothes, she tightened her grip on the bottle behind her back, ready to strike him hard on the back of his head.
But a casual voice drifted from the shadows around the corner before she could act.
"Well, well, Rebecca. Fancy meeting you here."
