Rebecca’s face remained impassive, but inwardly, she was seething. She had arranged a private meeting with Andrew to discuss the transaction. She certainly didn’t want anyone else present, especially not Xavier. Wasn’t this handing him leverage on a silver platter? Andrew, noticing her expression, explained, “Xavier’s here to see me. He’s a good friend of over twenty years. You can rest assured, he won’t say anything.” Rebecca scoffed internally. She’d sooner trust a pig than Xavier.
